Professor Juniper gestured for you to follow her inside. You did so and followed her into her lab, She leaned against a counter and crossed her arms.
"Well, You could go with one of my other assistants, who have tasks in some other places. One is going to Goldenrod City to check up on the Pokemon in Whitney's gym. It's nothing bad. Just the regular complaints from Trainers that Whitney's pokemon are too strong or overleveled. Ordinarily, Professer Elm would be handling it, but there's some complains that fresh eyes might be needed," Professor Juniper said.
"Isn't... Isn't that gym full of..." You began, not sure if you should finish that sentence.
"Girls? Yes, but the girls in that gym like cute things and tend to ignore boys like yourself. I mean, it's not like they'll obsess over you to the point they kidnap you," Professor Juniper answered with a smirk.
'You have no idea how true that might be,' You thought. You then said what you hoped what would happen, "Yes, I'll probably get ignored or asked what pokemon is cuter."
"Another assistant is going to the Skyarrow Bridge, where a Gothitelle is waiting for an old friend of hers. Unfortunately, her friend is in the hospital and will be there for a few weeks," Professor Juniper said. Then she said with a serious look on her face, "Keep in mind that the Gothitelle is powerful enough to trap anyone in its illusions, illusions made up of its memories."
"So it might be too dangerous for me..." You muttered.
"Possibly. Or your inexperience would cause it to snap back to reality the moment it senses you," Professor Juniper said with a shrug. Her cheerful mood returned as she said, "Anyhoo, the next assistant will be getting some perfumes, flower samples, and other stuff from Erika's gym in Celadon City. I bet they would like a helping hand with carrying the stuff."
"Anything else? You asked.
"Well, I'd have to look around. At the moment, I'm looking after a Malamar who's decided that it will be some sort matchmaker," Professor Juniper said, looking a bit annoyed. Then under her breath, "Stupid thing said I was getting too old to stay single."
