This choice: They try to come up with something they can do together with it. • Go Back...Chapter #5Jaune and Ruby come up with an idea by: GTsentinel   “So, what do you wanna do first?” Ruby asked.
“Uh… I was kinda hoping you’d have an idea,” Jaune admitted sheepishly.
“Oh…” Ruby and Jaune stood quietly as they racked their brains for something to do. It wasn’t that it was hard, more that there were so many ideas that they didn’t know what to do first. Bodies, lives, even personalities! They had so much at their disposal to swap, that choice paralysis was inevitable.
“Well… What have you done so far?” Ruby asked.
“Swap bodies with Blake.”
“Yeah, I knew that, but what else?”
“Uh, that was kinda it,” Jaune scratched the back of his head. Was he supposed to have done more? Was he the only one who would’ve shared this power with a friend?
“That’s… perfect!” Ruby exclaimed. “We should do something big and memorable for your first real swap! Like... Like... Oh! Like helping you beat Cardin!”
“Well, I guess I would like to that. But that… kinda feels like cheating. If I use someone else’s strength and skills, it’s not like I actually won then…” Jaune bemoaned.
“”No no no! Just their body!” Ruby clarified. “Listen, yeah, it won’t be you, but it’s a proof of concept Jaune! You only started training this year! You’ve gotten so much better, but you just can’t catch up to the amount of physical training. Cardin’s a big meat head, but I know if you were as strong as he was, you’d wipe the floor with him! It'll be a proof of your skill!”
“Yeah… Yeah!” Jaune smiled, slowly buying into Ruby’s hype. He was using crummy hand me down weapons and didn’t even get to go to combat school. He deserved to even the odds a little! “And I know just the body to do it!”
“Yeah! It’s totally obvious!” Ruby agreed with him.
“Pyrrha!”
“Yang!”
The two students stayed frozen in place as they took in the other’s answer. Ruby was the first one to break the silence.
“What! Why Pyrrha? I’d get it if you suggested Nora, but Pyrrha’s nowhere near as strong as Yang is!” Ruby argued.
“Yeah, but Pyrrha’s the best fighter of all of us! Her body has to be the best one to use!” Jaune said.
“Yeah, but we’re not taking Pyrrha’s skills or Semblance! That’s what makes her so good! You need Yang’s muscles!” Jaune blushed a bit at the prospect of taking Yang’s body and everything that came with it, but he had to remain adamant in his choice.
“Yeah, but Pyrrha uses a sword and shield like me! Her body probably has all the right muscles for my fighting style.”
The two friends huffed back and forth as they exchanged their reasonings. However, it soon became clear that they were both too biased towards their respective teams for a conclusion to be met. Like this at least.
An all too happy smile worked its way onto Ruby’s face. “Well, there’s one way to see which body is better…”
“Oh no…” Jaune could already see where this was going.
“I’ll swap with Yang and you swap with Pyrrha, then we’ll fight it out! That’ll settle things once and for all!” Ruby claimed.
“Well… at least it’s something for us to do with the remote… and yeah, I guess this could be fun…” Jaune blushed as he remembered that the two of them would be taking the bodies of some of the most beautiful girls at the school. “So who’s first?” | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
