Angela grinned as she left her daughter's room. It was cruel, yes, but it honestly felt great to remind her daughter who was the biggest in the house. She strode back downstairs, not bothering to cover herself up. She could hear Cindy's protests from upstairs, but didn't bother to pay attention.
She walked to the living room and froze. There was a new remote on the coffee table. It was such a small change, but the little device stuck out to her, almost calling to her. She picked it up and turned it over in her hands. It didn't sport any logos or brand names. It didn't even have a battery compartment on the back. All it had was a numerical keypad, two buttons sporting the letters "G" and "S" respectively, and a button that just said "Fire". Angela blinked and pressed the "S" button. Nothing.
"Must be for one of Becca's gadgets or something," she muttered. She idly aimed it at the TV and pressed the "fire" button.
With a sound of creaking plastic, the television began to shrink. What was once a sizable flat-screen contracted, revealing more and more of the wall behind it. Angela gaped as the family TV stopped its shrinking; it was barely the size of her computer monitor at work. She glanced back at the remote.
"S," she mused. "Probably 'shrink.' So 'G'..." She pressed the 'G' button and fired the remote at the TV. In a matter of seconds, the TV was back at its normal size. Angela ran her tongue idly over her lips.
"Mama like," she whispered. She stared at her new toy heart pounding in her amply-padded chest. "What to do, what to do?"
