Chapter #3

Dodging for too long may not work after all

You were well aware of the dangers of staying on any part of the road including the edges but you stayed determined to continue dodging the constant traffic of Pokémon and all from stepping on you.

You were able to keep it up for surprisingly a long time. Luckily all that dodging really paid off when you dodged that last paw from a wild Mightyena which was quite a close call but you somehow escaped from being squished by those big paws. You were relieved that for once there isn’t anything else on the road and decided to take a breather of sorts. You were confident that even at a very vulnerable size you can still make your way to the town. Obviously your life has been on the line the whole way but it was possible.

You were just about done with your break and was planning on walking again but you then heard some booms that were quickly getting louder and louder. You look toward where the sound is coming from and you see a Boltund running and you were certain that you will soon be in its path. Unlike the other Pokémon and all you encountered on this road, however, mostly all of them were taking a slow stroll and because of that, it was easy to dodge them. This Boltund was running rather quickly and even though you just got your energy back, it was almost instant that the Pokémon was already casting a shadow over you.

You attempted to dodge but unfortunately, it was too late as you see the running Boltund’s paw over your head swiftly stomp you hard into the ground. Luckily the Pokémon was moving so fast and stepping with such force that you didn’t feel a thing as the paw immediately took the life out of you. As the paw lifts up, it kicked up the dirt, rocks and what’s left of you behind it as it continued to run.

To the Boltund’s point of view, it was doing its usual run across the road completely unaware of the tiny life form it recently stepped on but it’s still smiles thinking how good it feels to run.
