"Oh man..." Haida huffed as he rubbed his bloated belly.
Ookami laughed. "Man Haida I can't believe you ate all that."
"Ugh shut up... you aren't one to talk" Haida said as he stifled a burp.
"Yeah I guess you're right..." Ookami said as finished off his fries.
The two friends were finishing up lunch before going back to their accounting jobs.
"Man I can't believe how much weight ice put on in just a couple of months..." Haida complained as he looked at his belly. A small mound that was pressing up against his white buttoned shirt.
"Yeah we aren't in high school anymore metabolism slowing down and what not, looks like we're going to have to watch what we eat now." Ookami said as he started cleaning up the table.
Haida sighed. "Yeah I guess you're right." Haida said as he left his seat and pot his trash away.
"You know I hear there's this new gym that opened. We could become gym buddies to help lose the weight." Ookami said.
"Maybe I'll think about it." Haida said as he marched back to his soul sucking job.
"Alright then talk to you later Haida." Ookami said as he and Haida went back to their office desks.
Haida was miserable. He felt like there was no more excitement in his life anymore. He was just going to come to his job, do his work, eat, sleep, repeat till he died.
He wanted more! He wanted to feele excitement in his life again, something that would being joy to his dull life.
Haida resumed his work without incident till the end of the day, clocking out and making the lonely journey home.
Walking down the street Haida spotted a soda can rolling down the sidewalk. Frowning, he rushed up and kicked the can wanting to release his pent up frustration.
"Shit!" Haida shouted as he lost his balance falling on his back. Haida sighed. He couldn't win. Haida laid down despondent.
"Hey you alright? That looked like quite the fall." A voice said.
Haida looked up to see a light blue buttoned shirt towering over him.
"Oh yeah I'm fine, just uh.... marveling the sky!" Haida said trying to recover his pride. He swiftly got up seeing that he was speaking to an overweight polar bear.
"Well I'm glad you're alright." The polar bear said.
"Yeah." Haida said.
Suddenly a loud growl was heard. Haida blushed knowing that it was his belly begging for food.
"Oh hehe sorry about that, just hungry." Haida said.
The polar bear laughed. "No problem I know what it's like ." The polar bear said patting his gut. "Hey I was just about to hit the all you can eat buffet care to join me?" The polar bear asked.
Haida had nothing else going on, maybe it would be good to eat out and maybe make friends. "Sure, that sounds nice, the name is Haida by the way." Haida said as he started walking with the polar bear.
"Nice to meet you I'm Shirota." They walked down the street heading to the restaurant.
