Chapter #7

Tale of two tacticians

by: Leon Wolf Author IconMail Icon
Warning, contains both male and female Robin. For sake of telling them apart, male Robin is named Reflet (their name in Japan version) and female Robin is named Robyn. They both have silver/white hair and the black tactician coat.

Robyn awoke bright and early, it was going to be another long day of planning and strategies. She groaned as she made her way to the tent flap leading out. As she opened it, she was surprised to see the other white haired tactician about to tap on the tent flap. "Oh! Uh, good morning Robyn." He greeted with a smile.

"Morning Reflet." She replied unamused. They recruited him about the same time frame as when Tharja joined the Shepherds. Supposedly she knew him prior to losing her memory but no memories meant she could neither confirm nor deny such. "What do you want?"

"Just came to see if you were awake. No strategy meetings today, nor any tactics required. Chrom has given everyone the day to rest." Reflet replied still wearing his cheerful smile.

Robyn rolled her eyes before going back into her tent and ignoring Reflet. She waited a moment and heard him walk away. A sigh escaped the female tactician as she went to the new tomes she had been wanting to study. Now she had a chance. Most were just more powerful versions of spells she already knew. But there was one that was a new spell altogether. She read the text over and over again.

According to the text, it made the person used on able to go unnoticed. Having such ability in combat would prove very useful. Robyn was determined to practice and try it out. She began casting but paused when she realized she nothing to test it on. Shaking her head, she decided to try the spell on herself.

Robyn felt the surge of magic coursing through her. It was uncomfortable unlike other spells she had used. She winced slightly as she finished casting. Shaking her head she realized something was off. She looked around and realized everything in her tent was huge. The makeshift desk, the books, everything. "Ooook… stay calm Robyn, you just need to reverse cast and you'll be good as new." She reassured herself. The tactician attempted to reverse cast but ended up in complete failure. She scratched her head as she tried to think up a plan.

Robyn felt the ground quake as someone approached her tent. Yes! Surely whoever it was could lend her a helping hand.

"Hey, Robyn, since we got the day off, I was wondering…" Reflet began as he entered the tent. He blinked a few times. "Robyn?" He looked around not seeing the female tactician. "Huh… guess she left." He mumbled.

"Reflet! Reflet! Down here!" Robyn yelled as she failed her arms, trying to get the male tactician attention. While she did not like Reflet, she didn't why though, she needed help.
