Helen, now no more than a head taller than her son, looked in awe at her surroundings. Everything in the kitchen seemed bigger, the chairs were larger, the counter tops were higher. She didn't lose an awful lot of height, but still.
"What have you done to me?" Helen exclaimed, her voice now higher-pitched and trembling. Dylan, unable to contain his laughter, responded gleefully, "Mom, I made you smaller! Isn't it awesome?"
Helen couldn't believe her ears. "Smaller?! You've made me into some sort of freak!" she yelled. "This isn't funny!"
"Don't worry, Mom, you look great. Besides I can fix you," Dylan assured her. He had never seen his mother so vulnerable before, it was pretty exhilarating.
"Hmm...ok," Helen looked at the size ray, "I guess you used that thing to shrink me?"
"Uh-huh. But I can use it to grow you back to normal. Want to see?"
