This choice: Reign has the ability to shrink ! • Go Back... [Let it be stated, I haven't watched season 3, my heart just wasn't in it so have a less than bare minimum idea what's going on this year. Same with Season 6 of Arrow but that's for different reasons, kept missing season 5 and am now really confused about what's going on in the current story. Any who, be gentle]
So we begin this storyline just after Supergirl and co manage to take out both Purity and Pestilence, with their powers being absorbed into Reign. We now focus on Reign in her hideaway, when a flicker of movement in the corner of her eye has her fire a blast of heat vision, the chuckles that follow proof she missed her target
'If that's your best my dear, it's no wonder you continue to fail' a voice purrs as a small, lizard like creature slinks out from behind the rocks, before the sounds of snapping bone and tearing flesh accompanies the creature swelling and expanding, finally reaching Reign's height and overall scale. It was a reptile like being, clearly female from it's voice and proportions, some small, backward pointing horns glowed due to the light grey against the deep midnight of her scales.
'So you finally come out of hiding Singularity' Reign sneers, to which the final World killer smirks around her long snout, spreading her arms and briefly revealing her retractable spines in her wrists, as well as the hand sized non retractable spike on the end of her whip like tail 'Because of your cowardice we were beaten, your powers would have ensured our victory'
'It's called strategy my dear, plus you going out half cocked to bust up blondie wasn't a plan, so it was destined to fail, the deaths of the others are on your head' she actually laughs at Reign's anger right until she gets the Kryptonian's fist through her chest, surviving just long enough to see her heart ripped out of her chest before everything went black
'I am surrounded by cowards and incompetence, you didn't deserve your gift' she snarls before bending at the hips, gritting her teeth to avoid a scream from the pain as Singularity's powers were added to her own arsenal, as well as growing an entirely new appendage, that being the reptid's spiked tail.
The witch's had given Singularity a relatively simple power that like Pestilence tied into her name, the spines in her wrists as well as the more formidable tail spike produced a substance which when it finds a target enables the world killer to compress their form to anywhere between their original size and that of a small rodent, making threats much easier to deal with. It was also reversible and for lack of a better word, alterable on a whim. She had also been able to use it on herself with near perfect control, other than severe discomfort, but that was true for her victims as well so it was less of a side effect and more just part of the process.
Now with Singularity's magic added to Purity and Pestilence, Reign had all she needed to to deal with this world. She just needed to pick her first target... but who?
Kara: Supergirl may be a soft hearted idiot, but she was also the only person who could stand even a chance against Reign if she ever got her head out of her ass and fought her for real. So why take the chance when she can shrink her, and either kill her at her reduced size or simply take her out of the equation.
Lena: While no physical threat to the Kryptonian she was a genius and stubborn enough she wouldn't give up until she had a way to stop Reign or at the very least separate herself from Sam. She couldn't be left to do as she pleased, the question would be whether she could actually go through with killing one of the few people who cared about her/them/Sam or if she'd keep her around for her own amusement and maybe even get her to help her.
Alex: There was enough of Reign that was identical to Sam that the human agent kept slipping into her thoughts, plus she was beginning to become a pain in the ass in the real world too. Killing 2 birds with one stone Reign could shrink and kidnap Alex, then see what draws them together, maybe even keep her as a plaything or a memento of her first conquest/annihilation  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
