Chapter #3A Moment of Your Time (Author's Note) by: Mr.Domino Hello everyone.
I'd like to take a moment of your time to announce that this is the 500th chapter of The Ahn'Ger Stone & Other Stories! It is a huge milestone for me and this Interactive, and I'd like to just talk a little about it and acknowledge the other hard working authors that helped this project come to life and take on a life of it's own.
A year ago, on April 19th, 2018 I embarked upon a project to restore several of the stories originally created by Sandyseeker, and had been unfortunately lost when Sandyseeker deleted their account. Those stories were:
The Grellstone: Angry Transformations.
Mark's Morphin' Machine.
Five Characters in Search of Change.
It was a daunting task as I had no way of re-posting the original chapters of the story, and to bring the stories into a more modern era of Interactive TG/TF. I knew that a complete restoration was going to be impossible and instead opted for making these stories and Interactive into more of a spiritual successor, similar but different, one that could take on a life of it's own and be an overall hub for original stories to start from. It started with the introductory overview which was (and still is) a bit wordy, but I also wanted to lay down some more rules to ensure a higher overall quality and keep out the content which can be viewed as distasteful to outright illegal. I wanted to treat this project and the stories within with the respect that they deserved and give fans of the original longer length chapters and higher quality stories to enjoy.
In the year since, this project has grown beyond my wildest expectations at the time, and that is entirely due to the hard work and dedication of my fellow writers helping to drive the story forward, to recreate what was lost when Sandyseeker deleted their account here. While Mark's Morphin' Machine and Five Characters in Search of Change (now known as Magical Transformations) have sort of fell by the wayside, the Ahn'Ger Stone and several side stories have been going strong, thanks to the help of these talented authors. Their dedication to this project helped keep my own interest, and I can easily say this is the largest online project that I have ever been part of. And I'm honored to be a part of it, as it is one of the high points of my day to log in and see new chapters posted, or an email talking about new ideas for this Interactive, and even just reading these chapters as a fan.
As such I'd like to take this moment to thank the following authors for their invaluable contributions to this story.
Fitzroy Clement: Someone whose knowledge of the old Grellstone chapters and understanding of it's characters helped propel this spiritual successor forward by such leaps and bounds. From recreating the old chapters, bringing back characters I had forgotten about entirely, to helping push into new arcs and filling out the world in a way that the original story never did, the Ahn'Ger Stone is now so much more than just a simple TF/TG story with a relatively small cast. Their contributions have been utterly invaluable in the success of this Interactive and it simply would not have survived without you.
Cardio: Someone who has helped me build an absolutely wonderful side-story with The Toolbox. With little more than two opening chapters, Cardio leaped in and grabbed hold of the concept, helping to flesh it and the characters into such a great grab-bag of transformations from both the expected to the wildly unexpected, from shrinking to TF/TG and just overall delightfully goofy characters. Thank you for exploring that world with me, and I look forward to many more chapters to come.
Somethingnew: Somethingnew was someone who stepped in at the start of the project, working alongside Fitzroy Clements to bring back the old chapters from the Grellstone and helped give this project the early push in interest it needed to get going. Your contributions were great and I look forward to see your return to this Interactive one day.
Comiccow6: Comiccow6's contributions to the Interactive have always been of excellent quality, often opening up routes that I had never considered, and seizing the initiative with one of the secondary story prompts to create something that I would have never expected. And their support for this project has been something that has always brought a smile to my face.
Morphology: While Morphology has not been an active contributor to this project, they did, however, post a large chunk of chapters from The Grellstone, helping give the Ahn'Ger Stone some of it's original history back. Thank you for providing these chapters, and if you're still out there reading, please feel free to add more, or post your own.
Mr. George: Thank you for your contributions, specifically the opening chapters of Mark's Morphin' Machine! It was great to see your take on the opening chapters of what was honestly my first exposure to Sandyseeker's Interactives!
Captain Awesome and Guyman: Thank you both for launching two of the side-stories! It is always a thrill to see other writers take on the story prompts and their interpretation of them! I have greatly enjoyed your chapters and hope to see more from you guys in the future!
To anyone that I might have missed, thank you for your own contributions to this project!
And last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank everyone that has been a fan of this Interactive and has come here to read the chapters we've ALL worked so hard on. As much as we may do this for ourselves, we also do this to entertain you!
Here's to many more stories, chapters and characters, and I'll see you all again at the 1000th chapter milestone!
