This choice: Sandshrew is having a hard time coming to grips with things • Go Back... Sandshrew had been giving it a try, he was polite to every pokemon that greeted him or wanted to talk but...it was such an impossibility to think of, what was going on. He couldn't shake the terror he felt. It was the middle of the night when he was sitting outside, looking at the calm, endless stretch of water before him. If we was the size he was born at he was sure he would see the shore...at least if it weren't misty he'd be able to. He sighed before he heard a door opening at the massive structure behind him.
"Still thinking about it huh?" A Pancham, around his age came out. This guy had been doing his best to keep tabs on Sandshrew, but...he wasn't sure why, he just asked questions then left Sandshrew alone. "I-I know yo-you don't understand but..." The Pancham sat next to him, chewing on the leaf in his mouth. "Nah, it's cool. I can't say i've gone through with it, but your life just got upended right? Gotta be something to think on for quite a while." The Pancham said, nodding. "Still though, gotta admit, it's a nice place ain't it?" Pancham said, putting his paws behind his head and grinning. Sandshrew looked at him. "H-how do y-you all do this, w-without being afraid?" He asked and Pancham looked confused.
"Why would we be afraid? That's an odd question..." He said and Sandshrew looked at him. "W-we're all so small here...w-what if a water pokemon c-came and-and..." Sandshrew said as he shivered. "Ooooh, I get it...you DON'T get it, no pokemon in that lake would dream to mess with this island, they avoid it." Pancham said shrugging. "Yeah, they're big I guess, but no one messes with us here...big sis won't let them." Pancham said casually and Sandshrew looked down.
"W-what is the whole story w-with that?" Sandshrew asked and Pancham shrugged. "Ask an older pokemon, I don't know all the details...don't care to know 'em. Something about divine punishment on our ancestors or something and I guess that Milotic took pity on them. She's not normal...been around longer than anyone here, that's for sure. Probably be around a long time after us...yup." Pancham said as he got up stretching. "Dude, it's late. You should go to bed."
"Pancham...you and Raichu are a-always checking on me...why?" Sandshrew asked and the other pokemon was walking away, and called back not turning his head. "It'd be a jerk move to try and let you adjust on your own right? You should look for the Shinx in this place...he's a little older than us, still a kid though, and in something of the same boat as you." He said and Sandshrew turned his head. "W-what do you mean...?" He asked and Pancham replied. "He was big too, until about a year ago...though he's a neurotic mess...to be expected I suppose. He watched Milotic do...well...he saw the nasty side to big sis, his dad was a bad pokemon, dragged Shinx out here with him and...and he fears her. To be honest...I was hoping to talk to you so you could try and talk to him. No one else can get through to him. Big sis has given her best effort too but he refuses to go out on the lake with her. Some of us were thinking...you came from the same world as him right? Maybe..." The Pancham seemed at a loss for words. "Think about it, maybe you can help each other, who knows. I'm going to bed, just wanted to talk to you when we were alone. Later dude." And with that Pancham left Sandshrew out there alone, to look out on the water.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
