You take in a deep breath through your nose, and wrinkle it in disgust before exhaling through your mouth. Today is the day you set out to put and end to the Rot and all this madness. Ever since the King had made his declaration, the Rot had been free to spread across Armello, and now that some of the wolf clan members are getting infected, it's become a problem. Wolves have sensitive noses after all, even a single Rot infected citizen with only one or two rot points can clear a building here! There are only a few Rot infected people in the clan, but it's enough to stink up the whole place! At least, to a wolf that is.
Eager to leave the smell behind and get some fresh air, you order the guards to open the gate and allow you to leave the Clan Grounds. You can only hope that this place won't succumb to the Rot while you're gone. After all, you are the leaving this place leaderless. Still, this Rot isn't going away on its own, and you won't just let it swallow up your people. You haven't been leader long, and you aren't very experienced, but even you can see that this is the best thing for your people!
One of the guards salutes you as you pass. "Good luck, sir! Hopefully you can find a way to cleanse this Rot before we all end up snout-deep in each other's boots. He shudders at the thought, and you do as well. After a brief exchange, you step outside and the gates are shut behind you.
The cold, wind blows up from the base of the Northern Needles. Strange magics have kept most of the land in an eternal summer, but the snowy peaks that the Wolf Clan call home remain cold as ever. It takes you most of the day to climb down, which is fine by you. You fight better in the dark anyways. As you reach the warm ground outside of Wolf territory, the fresh mountain air you'd enjoyed on the way down is replaced by the stench of Rot once again. You groan and hold your nose as you check your surroundings.
You can see a town off to the East. It'd be a good place to check for more information about the Rot, or just quests you can take for money. To the direct south are some old ruins, a dungeon you could explore. And finally, there's a forest to the East. There's probably not much there save for bandits, or perhaps one of the other people that clan scouts had said are looking to defeat the king.
