Derek finds Claire and they head for shelter

Derek followed in the wake of Debbie's enormous footfalls. He shouted Claire's name while scanning the area all around him looking for any sign of his girlfriend. He noticed others were doing the same. Shouting for missing loved ones who they had gotten separated from in the chaos. Who knows how many were trapped in Debbie's mug or worse? Never to be reunited again.

Derek was on the verge of giving up hope himself. He saw no sign of his girlfriend and his monster mom's footsteps had grown distant as she had clearly left the area. He had made it to the primate habitat, the last place Claire said she was heading. An exhausted and dejected Derek sat on the ground and began to cry when he heard screaming coming from one the exhibits.

Derek approached the edge of the baboon sanctuary and looked down to see Claire, with a terrified look on her face, holding onto the rail of the fence above a group of ferocious baboons. She must have jumped over the edge to escape being captured. The baboons below were acting erratic, shouting and howling, clearly on edge because of Debbie's giant presence passing through the area. Derek knew if if Claire fell into the habitat she was a goner. Derek broke eye contact from Claire to look around to find something he could use to pull her out. Not to far off the path he spotted a large fallen tree branch. It was heavy but sturdy enough to not break if Claire grabbed on to it. Derek lifted the branch over the edge, extending the end to Claire. Claire was terrified to let go of the gate but needed both hands to grasp the branch. With full trust in her boyfriend, Claire let go of the gate and wrapped herself around the branch. Derek felt his girlfriend's extra weight and pulled her up and over the edge out of danger.

The reunited couple hugged, tears falling from both of their eyes. The moment was interrupted when the realized they were still in great danger and had to get out of the city. The two passionately kissed and locked hands before making their way out of the zoo. They ran and
