Chapter #3

Lacey Truman Must Lose!

    by: Keroro04 Author IconMail Icon
“What do you mean it’s already been bought!?”

In the end, Gloria knew it was probably the best choice to choose a restaurant location in a shopping mall. Although she was a bit worried about how to win over the new generation, she could always hire a advisor to help her in plans on making a profit.

What she couldn’t have planned however was what if the location was already bought. It was only a few hours since she had checked the status on the Paradigm Plaza place, and again when she had arrived to place an offer on the area. That check was about 5 minutes ago, and she couldn’t believe that it was purchased so quickly.

“Yeah, I’m genuinely sorry. Someone just bought the plot of land. They said they were planning on making a restaurant that’s entirely baked goods and sweets. Overly sweet, if I may say so myself, but she had the money to straight up grab it.”

“Can you give me a name?” Gloria demanded, leaning forward on the table while having a angry look on her face.

“Hmm... I think it was Lacey Truman or something? Not really one for remembering names, but you can’t really forget the face on a local TV starlet wannabe...”

“Lacey Truman!? That utter bi- oh she has another thing coming...”

Leaving the realtor’s office, Gloria looked around the building, trying to find where Lacey had gone so she can give the rival baker her voice of mind. Luckily she didn’t have to search far, as she found her by the entrance of the office building, examining the documents that she had acquired minutes earlier.

“Paradigm Plaza... man, I’m going to be getting so many teens and young adults showing up, I’ll be drowning in dough! Maybe soon I will finally be able to expand beyond just bakeries, and actually breach into the national baking scene...”

“Hey!” Gloria yelled, breaking Lacey’s conceited focus on herself as the motherly-looking woman nearly dropped her documents. “What are you trying to do? I had my eyes on that place before you did, you know!”

“You can say that as much as you want, Gloria.” Lacey said, turning around as she held the documents up to her breasts. “But you just weren’t quick enough to take it! You know what they say, you snooze you lose! Though I suppose what you had planned in the first place wouldn’t do nearly as well as what I plan for it...”

Listening to Lacey’s voice, Gloria crumpled her fists angrily as she looked up at her glaring face. To the public, Lacey always tried to appear kind and professional, but in a private building like this realtor’s office building, she was free to show off her true smug and foul behaviour.

Even her own figure exuded an aura of show-off nature, on account of how it was shaped. While her belly was a bit soft, most of her weight settled in a perfect hourglass figure, with large and soft breasts and a hefty ass that she was proud of. If she was able to understand the Internet instead of relegating it to someone else, she’d probably identify herself as thicc, using it as a symbol of pride alongside her body positivity.

“What will it take to buy this off from you?” Gloria said, pushing herself into Lacey while still glaring daggers at her.

“Hmm, let me think. Oh, I know! I’ll give you these documents if you say that I’m the better chef live, on screen, for everyone to see.”

“What, no! I’d never do something like that!”

“Then I suppose your never going to own a spot in Paradigm Plaza then. So long, Gloria!”

Watching Lacey walk away, her hips swaying and bouncing with every step, Gloria just wanted to punch her in the baker’s smug face, but she knew that if she had done so, she probably would have gotten in serious trouble. For now, there was nothing she could do.

Still though, she did plan revenge. And revenge is a dish best served cold...

___

Later that night, Gloria was back home, on her personal computer as she got into a group chat with some of her most trusted friends and advisors. Among those in the group chat were her own second in command Nicole Harker, paid and trusted intern Cheryl Allen, as well as her financial advisor Honey Marilyn.

She even managed to have a rival Kitchen Boss who was also wronged by Lacey, Gina Bianchi on the group chat. Just a few weeks earlier, Lacey had also poached a location from Gina, leaving a heated grudge in the Italian chef. While Gloria wasn’t a fan of working with her, she knew that they had a common enemy, one that they needed to take on together.

“Ok, so it’s becoming increasingly obvious that Lacey’s becoming a big problem.” Gloria started, her arms crossed as she sat in her comfy office chair. “How exactly are we going to take her out before she starts hurting both of our businesses?”

“Yeah, I was wondering that myself.” Gina replied, as she took a small bite of ravioli that she had prepared while waiting for everyone to join in the group chat. “Perhaps what we need to do is make it so that her new location is... unprofitable, so to speak?”

“Oh, now that sounds like a good plan!”

“Aren’t you worried about the... legality of this solution?” Honey brought up, in a bit of a sassy tone. “I mean, what if we get caught? Couldn’t we be thrown in jail for conspiracy?”

“Who cares?” Gloria barked back. “She directly cut into both of our business plans, she needs to pay for this!”

“Hold on...” Nicole responded, in a huffed voice. “Honey has a point. But I think I do have an idea. Why don’t we just buy out another joint location and run her out legally? Then when everything is taken care of, we can just take the old location and continue from there?”

“Now that does sound like a good idea...” Gina said, taking another bite before cleaning her mouth up with a napkin. “One problem though. I don’t think Gloria is the kind of person who’d take a 30% cut of the profits in a 70/30 split, and I’d rather be on the top side of such an arrangement.”

“Agreed.” Gloria said, nodding. “Though it’s not off the table, I would rather like a more equal profit than one in favor of either of us. Hmm, what else?”

Waiting for another idea, Gloria only got silence as none of the others could come up with another idea for a while. Eventually though, the shy Cheryl raised her voice with a potential idea, her voice a bit cautious in tone.

“Uh... I got one other idea. Why don’t we just challenge her for the location? I’m sure if we offered her something in exchange for a bet, we’d be able to beat her fair and square for-“

“I don’t trust Lacey in the slightest for her to keep up a bet like that...” Gloria responded, cutting Cheryl off. “But, if this was an official thing and she left such a offer, that could be useful leverage for suing her. Not a perfect plan, but I like where your thinking...”

“Suing her would require a good lawyer though...” Honey brought up, as she grabbed onto a finance book. “If we go that route we’ll have to be careful with who we hire.”

“Don’t worry, I can provide someone who’s cheap and effective.” Gina said, finishing her plate of ravioli and sliding the plate to the side. “You won’t have to pay a dime.”

“No thanks.” Gloria stated, crossing her arms. “If any of us go into court, I’ll be paying for the lawyer. Don’t want to be legally cheated out of owning that place after all.”

With that, the four women continued to argue over the next few hours, about all of their varied plans against Lacey. Eventually, they all came to a decision...
