You figure it would not bode well for a commoner to roam around the Red Keep unsupervised. With that in mind, you decide to just go right to Lord Qyburn. Wherever he is.
You ask the first person you come across where you might find him, and she supplies you with directions. About ten minutes later, you arrive in the Grand Maester's office, below the rookery. There are no guards on duty. Just two young women, who appear to be maids. They smile warmly, but say nothing.
The door is closed, and you knock on it softly. You hear a voice from within say "Enter."
You carefully push open the door and step inside. An old man in the grey robes of a maester is seated at a desk. Unlike the typical maester, he does not have a chain of many metals hanging from his neck. But that is immaterial to you. What matters is whether this man actually is the Grand Maester.
"Are you the one called Lord Qyburn, ser?" you ask politely.
"I am, child," he tells you, "How might I help you?"
"Well, I just arrived in King's Landing this morning, and I am in search of work," you explain, "The captain of the guard directed me to you. He said you might have an opportunity for me. One which involves serving the Queen."
Qyburn smiles lightly and says "There IS such an opportunity. You look as though you might indeed be qualified for it. But I cannot just give you the position."
"I thought as much," you remark. "What must I do to prove my ability?"
"Sit down," he beckons you, gesturing to the chair on the other side of his desk, "I would speak with you. Your answers will determine whether or not the job will be yours."
"I understand," you tell him.
Qyburn then gives you a lengthy interview. It lasts for over an hour. He asks questions about your background, about your accomplishments, about your travels, and about everything else that would be worthy of some note. As well as some things which you would regard as trivial or insignificant. You are completely honest in your answers, and you give very descriptive responses. You would dare not lie or invent things in front of a member of the Queen's inner circle.
At the end of the interview, Qyburn smiles again and says "A great many young men have applied to this position, my boy, but you are by far the most appealing candidate. The position is yours, if you desire it."
You smile back and declare "Yes, milord. I graciously accept."
You still do not know what the position is, but if it involves being near the Queen, it must be worthwhile.
"Very good," says Qyburn. He then calls out "Dorcas! Senelle!"
The two maids standing outside the office enter the room. The bigger of the two is Dorcas. The redheaded one is Senelle.
Qyburn then issues them a command:
