Chapter #3

Contestant 5

    by: Unknown
Name: Rick West
Sex: M
Species: Human
Bio: A nice guy from suburbia, he's always been a good friend and neighbor. A scrawny, bookish lad, he's currently looking to get into college, but has no means of getting the money together without going into debt. When told about the maze, he was hesitant due to his sensitive nose and high libido, combined with his lack of physicality, but eased out when he learned that the audience can help a competitor if they like him enough. He's hoping to ride this contest on his good nature and audience generosity.

"Alright Mr. West, it's almost time for you to go on. Any reconsideration about doing this. You do know what happens if you lose right?" Asked the cat attendant in charge of overseeing you before the contest starts.

"No backing out now. I need that money for my tuition." You reply. The green light goes off, signaling your cue to go on stage. "Well, looks like it's time."

"Good luck." She says as you walk out onto the stage. You nearly went blind and deaf from the bright lights and the roar of the crowd respectively. You see the host, Putrina, standing by a door waiting for you.

"Ladies and gentlemen, introducing our newest competitor, Rick West." She announces while you approach her. "It's rare that we get a human to compete in this little contest of ours. Now then, this is normally the part where I send you in so you can get started, but I've been looking over your file, and I have to say that you are probably not going to last long in this little game. So, I feel like pulling out something a little special for you. I call it the 'pity trade'. How this little gimmick works is, you can 'sell' up to four of your five lives. For each one you sell, we'll give you $50,000 even if you lose. But, since you'll have less lives to work with in the maze, you have a higher chance of losing early on. Take your pick. Will you sell?"

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. You go in with what you have

*Noteb*
2. You decide to sell a few lives, then you win something no matter what

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
