This choice: Go to your house  •  Go Back...
Chapter #4

Back to the Old House

by: Sakuya Kawakami Author IconMail Icon
You head back to your house with Grant. When the car pulls into your neighborhood, you feel a sense of dread at what you are about to approach. Grant has his mouth wide open at all the destruction around the hood. It looks like a bunch of bombs have gone off.. houses destroyed, walls caved in, and yards full of smoking wreckage. "Holy shit dude." He says in shock. "I have to check if my family is okay! Where is everyone?"

"I think I should go in." You respond back to him, not feeling sure. Your neighbors' house, the Hendersons, looks completely torn apart. Worse, you see a puddle of a dark looking liquid pouring from under the front door and dripping into the front lawn. "I told you we should've gone to get guns!" You tell Grant to shut up, he is going on some rant about how the two of you are going to die. You are taking breaths to try to bring yourself back.. Okay, time to look at this situation. A group of deranged individuals, or vampires if we want to go there, have been attacking Ridgedon. Family might be dead.. but even with all his precautions and your mom's disapproval, you know for a fact that your dad keeps a shotgun in his bedroom.
"Look Grant, the door to my house looks held together with wooden boards. I don't see anyone around. Can I borrow your phone to call them inside?"

Being a passenger with no choice, Grant reluctantly hands you the phone. He is concerned that you two are sitting in the car, which is missing a passenger seat and sparking from the blunt damage it just took. He is on the lookout and even with all the damage, it looks like whatever or whoever caused it.. has left the neighborhood. "Dammit, no reception for some reason.. I can't connect and I can't see if the news is saying anything." You hand the phone back to Grant.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. You tell Grant that the two of you need to get inside your house

2. You tell Grant to stay on lookout in the car

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
