The weekend had gone by without a hitch, though you were still fairly nervous as you went into school that day. A jittery feeling of anxiety haunted you at the start of the day as you worried about whether or not someone involved had told a teacher or the chemistry teacher had noticed something amiss in the class. It faded by the end of the day though as you managed to avoid getting into trouble.
By that point, you had bigger things to take care of. On Monday, your mom helped out with one of several after school programs. That in turn left you, the oldest, in charge of making sure you and your siblings were fed. Today would be a nice change of pace though. Emily had a cross-country meet which would no doubt be followed by a trip to the mall. Samantha had an away soccer game that would have her out till late in the evening. Sophie was over at a friend's house to have dinner. Then finally Andy had been taken on a playdate with his nanny's niece. In short, the house would be your's and, more importantly, you could eat what ever you wanted without having to take any of your siblings' picky tastes into mind.
Fast food seemed the best option, a bit of a treat considering you usually just heated up TV dinners or made mac and cheese (one of few foods all your siblings would enjoy). It was also an excuse not to put in extra work on cooking. Still, fast food left you with plenty of options, options you debated as you sat in your car, watching Hyperion High's parking lot slowly clear out.
Titan Burger was the go-to fast food place in town, a bit of a local icon actually. It was famous throughout the city for its thick, greasy burgers and signature chili fries. You even got tourists stopping in the city just to try it. Downside there was, of course, it would be pretty crowded and busy at this hour. Students stopped in there after class, families came in for an early dinner, college students snuck in for cheap meal. It might be a slight wait, it would definitely be noisy, but it had been so long since you had a Titan Double Cheeseburger that it would probably be worth it...
Slice of Heaven Pizza, on the other hand, was a much smaller place, hidden in a strip mall on the other side of the grocery store. Most people passed it up in favor of larger chains, but as far as you were concerned that was a very big mistake. Slice of Heaven had some of the best pizza in Atlas City, not to mention a generous selection of toppings, sauces, crusts, and cheese. There was only one downside. Shelby, their new delivery driver, has hated you since you turned down her friend's romantic advances. Still, a walk-in would minimize your chances of running into her and hopefully prevent any tampering with the pizza.
Circe's Subs and Sandwiches was probably the worst choice of the three places you had in mind. Circe's was a small local chain of sub shops that let you customize your sandwich, sub, or wrap in one of four cookie cutter establishments. It was a bit of a healthier option, yes, but also a bit more expensive. There was, however, one thing that would encourage you to go there. You knew from previous visits that this Circe's hired a lot of cute girls for part-time positions AND had a pretty hot manager running the place. Add in the fact that Monday was a slow day and you might be able to start something up...
You drummed the wheel, watching as the last few cars exited the lot. With a nod and a smile, you turned the key, put it into drive, and started to head for ______.
