Chapter #2

Home is Where the Shrinking is

Frightened by the close call, you all decided to call it quits after hiding the evidence of anything ever happening.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

You get home not even an hour later. Hyperion isn't exactly an exhausting walk from your house, which you're thankful for. You live in a lovely condo with your upper-middle class family.

Your dad makes pretty good money to afford your blessed lifestyle. As expected, this comes with some drawbacks. Such as long business trips. He just left two days ago, and he'll be off in Japan for three weeks. But on the upside, if he's successful there, when he comes back he'll have a huge bonus and get to take some time off to enjoy his family. You all respect him very much

Your mom is an elementary school teacher. She loves kids, which is why she had so many. And now, as a teacher, in a way she has many more. She's pretty nice and you all get along with her pretty well for the most part. When dad's away, she's all you've got. Though you are a teenager, so that's not to say you always get along with her.

Your eldest sister is Emily. You're the oldest child, as you're a high school junior. Emily, at 14, is only a freshman. She has long blonde hair and is a bit tall for girls her age. Emily runs cross country at school, and is somewhat popular. You and her don't get along great, as she's a bit spoiled and bratty, but she's not the worst.

Next, we have your 12 year old sister, Samantha. She's in middle school. She is blonde like Emily. She's a bit more tomboyish than your other sisters, and plays soccer. You go to her games sometimes, but they're not terribly exciting. You and her get along fine, though she feels the need to prove herself a lot and likes to tease you. You can usually just ignore her, if you need to.

Then there's your 8 year old sister, Sophie. She has dark brown hair, taking after your mom. She's a third grader, so she usually goes to school with your mom. She's sweet and kind-hearted, though sometimes she lets out her mischievous side a little. You've always promised not to tell, though, so you get along great.

Lastly there's your 3 year old brother, Andy. He's a 3 year old, not exactly a lot you can say about him. He's cute, he's a punk, he's literally a toddler. He has brown hair like Sophie. But his nanny is kind of hot. She graduated high school recently, and she gets paid a lot to watch your brother every week day.

All in all, your family is pretty big. As the oldest, you've watched it grow and develop over the years. You're a pretty happy bunch, though sometimes you suspect maybe the reason your mom wanted so many kids was to try and fill the gap when your father was gone.

--------------------------------------------

You walked through the front door and set your stuff to the side. You went to the fridge to grab a glass of orange juice, since it's a part of your daily ritual. It's something yummy and it beats water, so you always look forward to it after your walk home. You went into your room to change your clothes into something dry, since the chemical shower got you all wet. Once you were dry and in a better mood, you decide to go say hi to someone. Who do you visit?
