Chapter #32

Three is a Magic Number

    by: Writetime Author IconMail Icon
You looked over Kairi's outfit. A pink and black dress, black ruffles on one side of her skirt and plaid on the other, with thick belted boots. It could only mean one thing. You were with Kingdom Hearts 3 Kairi!! Your heart soared at the thought of seeing Kairi wield a keyblade.

This wasn't the same Kairi that Sora first met in Destiny Islands. This was the Kairi from the events of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts 3.

You are so happy to meet this version of Kairi. And she was enormous!! You had to tilt your head up to the sky just to look past her boots. (Making sure to not peek up her skirt.) Kairi was too innocent and pure. You didn't want to do anything to leave this Princess of Heart disappointed in you.

You were so small. It was hard to judge but you appeared to be only be two inches tall in this paradise.

The sand scattered around like boulders. You were amazed at how the world looked from this perspective.

"Y/N? Are you alright? You got so quiet?" Kairi's concerned face shook you from your stupor. The giantess's face radiated with beauty and grace. You couldn't help but smile in her presence.
"I'm alright Kairi. Just a bit stunned by the view." You replied.

Kairi's giggles echoed into the heavens.

She seemed flattered by your response.

"The view, huh? I guess the beach looks nice from here. You should see it from the top of the palm tree. Come on!" Kairi turned and grabbed you into a loose fist. You held onto her index finger, trying not to fall.

With a hop and a skip, the girl took off towards a lone palm tree. You were still in awe of this paradise. You didn't notice how far Kairi had traveled until the tree was almost right next to you.

She didn't stop, though. The girl was running at full speed. You were confused for a moment before Kairi began climbing the tree.
You clung on for dear life, wrapping your arms around her middle finger. All the while Kairi giggled with delight. You felt the wind brush against your cheeks, making the girl's red hair flutter.

Kairi scaled the trunk in no time. It felt like the world was turning. Your feet dangling listlessly in the air. A feeling of vertigo overtook you. Kairi's giggling became louder, and you realized she was having fun. The girl was actually enjoying this! You weren't sure if you should be terrified or thrilled. You closed your eyes and hoped for the best.

"Here we are, Y/N! You can open your eyes now."

You opened your eyes, and saw Kairi was seated at the top of the tree. The red sunset beamed over the ocean coating the sky in a vibrant orange glow. The water shimmered and sparkled like a thousand diamonds. The breeze was cool and refreshing. The salty scent of the ocean filled your nose. It was the most beautiful sight you had ever seen.
You were at the peak of the palm tree. The tree swayed back and forth. This caused your whole body to sway with the rhythm of the wind.

Kairi's giggling brought your attention to her. The girl's laugh was contagious. Her joyous spirit was infectious. You smiled and joined in her laughter.

"I told you the view was amazing!" Kairi beamed with pride. She had the widest grin on her face.

"Yeah the view is quite amazing." Your face flushed as you eyes lingered on the giant Keyblader's face. You weren't exactly referring to the sunset when you made the comment. The giantess smiled at you. She could feel your gaze piercing into her eyes.
You could have stared at her forever. But then you noticed the horizon. The sun was setting behind the island. Darkness was falling quickly.

"Hey Kairi, shouldn't we head home before it gets dark?" You asked, wondering why she was just sitting there.

"I don't know. I kinda like it up here." She said with a shrug.

"You can't be serious." You replied, incredulous.

"You wanna know something?" She said, looking out into the horizon.

"Sure." You responded.

"I used to climb this tree every day. Just like I used to come up here everyday. Before Sora came and we left the islands." Kairi reminisced.

"Oh." Was the only thing you could think to say.

"When the three of us were together, nothing else mattered. Not our parents, not the darkness, nothing. We were happy."

"You were the best of friends, weren't you?" You questioned.

"Yeah, we were." She smiled.

"So, why'd you stop coming up here? Why'd you leave?" You wondered.

"Well, after the darkness came everything changed. I lost Sora and Riku. It was so long before we were reunited. But now we are together again and we will defeat Master Xehanort. He doesn't stand a chance." Kairi declared.

"I'm sure you will. You're a very strong person, Kairi. I've never met anyone with a kinder, more caring heart." You told her.

"Thanks, Y/N. That's very sweet of you."

The two of you stared at the horizon. The sun had completely set and the moon had taken its place. The stars twinkled in the night sky. Kairi yawned. "It's getting late. We should head back."

"I guess you're right." You said with a sigh. It was hard to believe you had spent the whole day with Kairi.

"We should come up here again soon." The redhead smiled.

"I would like that." You said with a grin.

You could have stayed there with her forever. But the hour was growing late. You had to return to the safety of the shoreline.
"Come on. Let's get you down."

Kairi climbed down the tree with ease. She jumped the last few feet, landing softly in the sand. You were amazed by her agility.
The giantess carried you back to the beach. She placed you down gently and took a seat beside you.
"Thank you for coming with me, Y/N. I've had a wonderful day. It was really nice." Kairi grinned.

"I had a great time too, Kairi. Thanks for bringing me."

"You're welcome. I'm glad you had a good time."

"So, what should we do now?" You asked.

"Let's head home for tonight. I'll set up a little bed for you in my room. You can stay with me for the night." She suggested.

"I'd like that. I'll be safe with you."

"Good. We should get going."

You got up and brushed the sand particles off your clothes. Kairi stood up and stretched her arms and legs. She reached down and picked you up.

The two of you strolled back to Kairi's house. The nighttime was filled with the sound of crickets and the ocean's gentle waves. The breeze was cool and refreshing. The salty scent of the ocean filled your nose. The gentle scent of sandalwood and papou fruit wafted off Kairi's crimson locks. You breathed in her lovely scent.

The two of you arrived at Kairi's front door. She opened the front door and rushed up to her room.

She opened her bedroom door and placed you on the bed.
"I'll be back in a second. Make yourself comfortable." She smiled.
Kairi left the room and returned with a small basket. "Here we go."

She grinned walking to the side of the bed. The basket was full of clothes and blankets. She placed it on the floor next to the bed.
"Do you mind turning around?" She requested.

"Not at all." You turned away and looked out the window. The moon was bright and the stars shone brilliantly. You were entranced by the beauty of the night sky. You heard some rustling behind you and Kairi cleared her throat.

"Okay, all done." She said.

You turned back around and were taken aback by her appearance. She was wearing a simple night gown. It was light pink and came down to her knees. The thin fabric clung to her body, revealing the curves of her breasts and hips. Kairi sat on the edge of the bed and began removing her boots. "Sorry for taking so long. I had to put some proper PJ's on" Kairi explained.

PLOP! With a slight squelch Kairi's boots fell to the floor. The smell of her sweat filled the room. You tried not to think about it, but you couldn't help but imagine the sweaty feet inside those boots. Kairi slipped off her socks, and the scent of her bare feet invaded your nostrils.

"I can't tell you how much I've missed being on the islands." Kairi sighed. "It's so peaceful here. No more Heartless or Nobodies. I can't remember the last time I felt this relaxed." She wiggled her toes relaxed and carefree.

"Yeah. It's great." You agreed.

Kairi laid down and stretched her legs. Her feet were right in front of you. You could see the individual beads of sweat forming on her soles.
You felt your mouth grow dry at the sight. A thought came to mind. You wanted to do something for Kairi. Anything. Something to show her you were just a little doll to smile and play with.

"You know Kairi," You swallowed hard thinking of what to say next. "You should probably dry off your feet before climbing into bed." You took a deep breath before continuing. "I could dry your feet off for you."

With bated breath, you looked up into the whirlpools of Kairi's eyes as she opened her mouth.
