Chapter #12The Kaleidoscope by: irven You wake up on a huge bare altar in a gigantic stone room. It looks like a dungeon in an ancient castle, with some torches and doorways along the walls, and some tattered banners hanging here and there. As you look around, you quickly come to the conclusion that this place is either built by giants, or you shrunk. This is far too big to be a normal structure.
You get up and walk to the edge of the altar. It’s like a cliff, a drop of multiple stories straight down to the floor. For the time being, you’re stuck up here.
You sigh and sit down. You shudder—partially because it’s cold in this room, but also because you’re scared. How did you get here? Why are you so small? Or alternatively, why is this place so huge? And how long will you be stuck here?
As you worry, you start to hear echoing footsteps coming closer. You quickly look over to one of the doorways entering into the room, and gasp as you see a strange person coming in. She’s not human: she’s an anthropomorphic tiger with green eyes and yellow fur, wearing a leather outfit with a green scarf, and armed with multiple knives and a whip. You also have to admit she looks pretty cute—and yet, she’s a giant compared to you, which is rather frightening.
She looks around the room and laughs. “Cool!” she says to herself. “Take that, Kaleidoscope! You’re no match for my skills! Made it all the way to a treasure room, looks like. I bet that altar’s got something good on it!”
You consider what she said—this strange place is apparently called the “Kaleidoscope”, and has treasure in it. But you can’t dwell on it for long, because the girl is coming straight for the altar.
You gulp and stare at her as she approaches. When she comes near enough to finally get a close look at you, she stares at you for a couple moments. She seems perplexed at first, but then she seems to realize she’s looking at a tiny person, and she yelps and hops back in surprise.
“W-wait!” she stammers. “Y-you’re not treasure!”
You want to say something, but you’re too nervous. Will this catgirl gobble you up like a mouse? Will she help you out? You can only hope she turns out to be friendly.
The tigress recovers from her surprise, and slowly walks closer again. She leans forward to examine you, bringing her enormous furry face up close to you. “Are you a... t-tiny human?” she murmurs. “Wow... I’ve seen plenty of humans, but never a tiny one...”
“Y-yes!” you shout, finally able to talk. “I’m a human, b-but I don’t know how I got here, or why I’m so small. I just woke up here... Can you help me?” indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
