You did a good job of evading Roll’s broom for a while. However, she eventually decided to speed up, and her broom closed in quickly. This time, you were unable to escape as the huge mass of soft bristles swung towards you. The broom struck you and lifted you off your feet, sending you tumbling along the hard floor of the lab. You rolled to a stop and groaned, lying down in a daze.
The floor shook as the robot giantess stepped over to you. She was clutching the broom against her body, and looking down at you nervously.
“A-are you okay?” she asked. “I hope that didn’t hurt you.”
“I’m fine,” you said, sitting upright.
Roll sighed in relief, then crouched and picked you up. She lifted you up to her face and grinned, saying, “Well, looks like Sweep Woman wins this round. You’ll have to try harder than that to win against me, dust bunny!”
“Dust bunny?” you said with a smirk. “Is that my new nickname now?”
“Uh, maybe not,” Roll giggled. “I think it sounds kinda cute, but... I guess it isn’t very flattering. I can try to think of something better.”
“Actually, I don’t really mind it,” you said, after taking a moment to reflect on the name. “It’s cute, like you said. And I think it’s sort of fitting, considering my size, and the way you can sweep me up. I think I’m fine with ‘Dust Bunny’ for now. Or you could even say Dusty, or Bunny.”
“Oh! Okay,” said Roll. She seemed a bit surprised that you accepted her random nickname idea, but she was happy, since she did like the cute sound of the name. “Sounds good to me! But anyway... thanks for playing. I had a lot of fun! It’s been a long time since I was able to just hang out and play with someone.”
“I had fun too,” you said.
Roll was glad to hear you say that. But then she began computing some things in her mind, and replaying recent events. She really did have a lot of fun playing with you... a lot more than she expected. In fact, she felt like simply being with you made her happier. Why was that? Was it just because she was usually so lonely when her brother and her creator were away?
She also thought back to the way you praised and complimented her during the game. You called her “amazing” and “cool”, and you weren’t the slightest bit afraid of the fact that she was a robot—instead, that just made you like her even more. Plus, you had chosen to remain here in this world, generously making a sacrifice just for the purpose of making her happy. She concluded that you truly were a nice guy, and she loved that. It made her want to spend a lot more time with you, and get to know you better, and...
Her cheeks began to turn red. What was going on? Was she already starting to develop a crush on you?
While Roll processed these thoughts in her computer mind, you squirmed a bit in her grip, feeling awkward as she stared at you and blushed. You had no idea what she was thinking, but it made you slightly uncomfortable.
“Uh, Roll?” you asked. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah!” the robot girl shouted suddenly. “I’m t-totally fine! D-don’t worry about me, Dust Bunny.”
She was still blushing, but you decided not to question her about it. “Well, alright,” you said. “Anyway, I guess we’re done with that game. What should we do now?”
