This choice: To play a prank with someone • Go Back...Chapter #24Who to Prank? by: Ponymon   “We are going to play a prank on someone!” Zoe cheered, much more enthusiastic than you were. Her fingers grabbing the back of your shirt, you hung helplessly in front of the giant girl.
“Really a prank? Who exactly are we going to prank in this crazy place?” You say sweeping your hand in front of you. Zoe just laughed.
“Well of course we aren’t going to find someone here. This is my world.” She patted herself as if to show off. “But, this place is also the solution to our problem. Did you forget that I could do this?” Without warning, Zoe’s fingers released you from their grip and you were left in a free fall.
You felt your stomach drop as you plummeted towards wherever the ground was in this strange place. You instinctively close your eyes, and brace yourself for impact with something. You figured Zoe was going to catch you yet you weren’t sure how. But soon you felt like your stomach began rising instead, along with the rest of your body.
You open your eyes and see Zoe in front of you. Only, she was upside down! As you somehow slow to a stop, you open your mouth to say something. But a feeling of falling again trapped the words in your throat. Keeping your eyes open, you watch as Zoe shoots into the sky only to reappear again a moment later towering over you in the proper direction.
You float upwards a little longer and before you can start falling, one of Zoe’s bubbles appear beneath you. You take a moment to compose yourself, slightly disoriented by your trip. Currently floating in front her stomach, Zoe looks at you with a pleased smile on her face.
“How’d you like your first portal jump?”
You simply shake your head. “It was a bit… nauseating.”
Zoe looked at you confused. “Really? I do much crazier jumps all of the time! Like I just sent you upside down once. I go upside down, inside out, and out and around like a bunch of times. You mortals really are weak.”
“Well, sorry I’m not used to being thrown through portals.”
“Okay, I’ll go easy on you with the portals. But now that you remember I have portal powers, you know how we’re going to find someone to prank!” Zoe’s peppy attitude returning.
“Alright, who are we going to prank?” You say, continuing to go along with what Zoe said. At least you weren’t immediately going to be put in a difficult situation. For all you knew, Zoe would be the one doing the work this time.
“About that, I have this hilarious idea that will make this a lot cooler for both us.”
Uh oh. You didn’t really like the sound of that.
“We are going to pull a prank on me!” Zoe threw her arms into the air and did a little flip. You looked at the girl incredulously. You thought she was a weird before. But what she just said didn't even make sense.
“How in the world could we do that? You can’t prank yourself. Pranks only work on people that don’t know they’re going to happen. Obviously, you can’t fool yourself.”
Zoe stopped flipping and looked at you like you were the dumb one. “Well duh! Why would I prank myself? That doesn’t make sense. I wasn’t talking about the me, me. I was talking about another me.”
“You… you lost me.”
Zoe groaned and snapped her fingers. In an instant, the two of you fell through a portal and ended up in a completely different area than you previously were. You were also now sitting in Zoe’s lap as she sat on one of her bubbles. In front of you was a large collection of portals made of various colors. They were set up in a way that almost looked like a collection of monitors at a security station.
“Okay, here’s the rundown. My portals don’t just go between the normal world and my world. They connect to all sorts of cool places! And some of those cool places have other versions of me too. I tried talking to them before, but they don't seem to know I exist! I think my powers prevents other versions of myself from recognizing or sensing me. All I know is that different versions of me can’t interact with me and they probably have a special world just like mine, but different.”
Okay, so going by what Zoe was saying, you figured that she had some kind of dimensional travel power but she couldn’t interact with herself. Great, that meant you would probably have to be the one to play the prank.
“Anyways, there are two versions of me right now that I think it would be really fun to prank! One of them is like in this cyberworld and is a hacker or something. That could be fun. Oh, and the other version of me is always at a pool party with a bunch of other people. I bet we could make some epic pranks there!” Zoe continued without giving you a chance to speak.
“I’ll get into more details after you pick. I have some good ideas on how to prank myself, but I figured since you’re doing the hard work that you should choose!” She gave you a quick pat on the head.
“Can’t we just prank someone else?” You ask Zoe desperately. You weren’t sure if you could handle another version of Zoe. And you were certain that something would go wrong during the prank that would get you noticed by the victim.
“Whaaaat?” Zoe looked down at you glumly. “Come on, it’ll be fun to prank me! Plus if other me finds you, they’ll probably think it was funny! And then they could send you back with an idea to prank me and we could start a whole cycle.”
“We can do that later if you want. Right now, I’d rather prank someone else.” You realized you should probably give a reason for why, and saying you couldn’t handle another version of her probably wouldn’t dit well with her. “I just think other yous will be too good at sniffing out pranks. I should practice on someone more gullible so I can get good at pranking first.”
Zoe looked at you and then at her collection of portals, considering what you said. She had gotten kind of bored of pranking mortals, but doing it with a tiny mortal helping her would probably make it more exciting. But on the other hand, she really wanted to play a prank on another version of her. It just seemed oddly funny and appropriate to her.
“Eh, I guess if you really wanted to practice then I could help you prank someone else. But I really think pranking me would be better. Are you super sure you need the practice?”
It was clear that Zoe really wanted to prank another version of herself, and you clearly didn’t feel up for it. Of course you don’t think you pranking anyone would turn out well for you so maybe you could play along?
