"What? What do you mean I don't really fit your scene anymore? What's that supposed to mean?!" Parker's voice screeched through the thin walls of Casa de Black. She had been going on like this for almost an hour. At first Piper had put her headphones on and just tried to watch some Netflix, but Bojack Horseman wasn't the same when occasionally punctuated by an overgrown womanchild. So Piper turned it off, got herself and aspirin and was just...waiting, for it to be over.
She knew it was Parker's ho-bag friend, Tina. Tina always came around in these tiny miniskirt dresses that had one shoulder exposed, way too much makeup and hairspray, and was basically everything Piper hated about Parker, purified and concentrated with a dash of redneck. Because both horrid bitches, Paker and Tina had a fight like this about once every three months, usually over literally nothing. Maybe one of them forgot the other's purse when they left it with them, while they were both drunk, or maybe they were fighting over a guy who just pumped and dumped them anyway.
"Fuck you! Fuck YOU!" And then she threw the phone against the wall right behind Piper's head. Piper had enough and stormed out of her room and threw open Parker's door. She was about to tear into her with every grievance she'd accumulated over the last few weeks, but then she saw something she hadn't seen since she was like, five years old. Parker was crying.
Piper just stood in the doorway, waiting for something to happen. Finally Parker let it out between heaving sobs.
"Tina doesn't want to be seen with me anymore! She says I'm fat and disgusting!" Well...Piper couldn't dispute the fat part. Parker had eaten herself into plus sizes. The Black family had always hovered around there, being slightly taller then average, and all being what they now called thicc, but Parker had jumped straight up there. She'd even gone to Torrid especially to buy a size 22 dress that would fit her to go out tonight, and it was a bit...clingy.
As for disgusting well...Parker was a tramp who now had a habit of burping anytime she was in the room, calling her 'pitstain,' her mascara was running from crying and her hair was a trainwreck. But still! She was her sister!
So she came up onto Parker's bed an hugged her, and for once, Parker didn't protest. As she wrapped her fingers around her sister's shoulder, she found it incredible how much padding even that had. Sitting here, this close to her, she really couldn't believe it. This was Parker?
"Come on, Tina was a total bitch anyway, even to you." Piper insisted. Sometimes she wondered if the problem was that Parker fell in with the wrong crowd. Tina and her friends were the only ones who actually hung out with Piper, starting when they got out of High School. And since Tina was everything bad about Parker, but worse, Tina was probably a terrible influence. Piper had a hard time hiding the glee she had at the thought of never seeing Tina again, which didn't do much to help Parker.
"Remember when you got glue in your hair that one time, and then Tina told everyone that you got hair extensions? Come on, you're better off without her." That only provoked further wailing. OK, time to change tactics.
"What would make you feel better, right now, sis?"
"Right now?"
"Right now."
"Pizza."
"You want Pizza?"
"I want so much pizza." Ah, the fat girl stress eating. Piper had done it herself a few times during her 'heavy days.' Fortunately Parker hadn't really reached those levels yet. 'Yet', the word weighed heavily on Piper's mind. She'd been down this path before. She knew all the trouble Parker was getting into and...also the few glimmering upsides. She knew how good a pizza could be on a night like this. She knew how good Pizza itself could be. She knew how good fullness itself could be, and that really, genuinely that might be the only thing that could make Parker feel better now. She decided to...
