Chapter #5

Hop off the Seat

by: Andy Wilson Author IconMail Icon
Dylan's heart pounded in his chest as he realized the true danger he was in. Ms. Brooks was reaching for him with a napkin, intent on crushing him like a mere insect. He couldn't let that happen. With a burst of desperate energy, Dylan leaped off the desk chair, propelling himself away from the looming napkin.

He hit the floor with a thud, his tiny body bouncing slightly. There was no time to waste. Dylan sprinted across the vast expanse of the classroom floor, his legs pumping furiously. Behind him, he heard Ms. Brooks exclaim in surprise as he evaded her initial attempt to squash him.

Dylan ran as fast as his shrunken legs could carry him, weaving between the giant desks and chairs that loomed like skyscrapers around him. The sound of Ms. Brooks' footsteps echoed ominously, each step shaking the ground beneath him. She was gaining on him, her towering form blocking out the light from the windows.

Just as Dylan thought he might escape, a shadow fell over him. He looked up to see Ms. Brooks' foot descending like a falling boulder. Dylan screamed, but there was nowhere to go. The foot crashed down, crushing him beneath its immense weight.

Agony exploded through Dylan's body as bones shattered and organs ruptured. The air was forced from his lungs, leaving him gasping and choking. Ms. Brooks lifted her foot, and Dylan caught a final glimpse of the world before darkness claimed him forever.

His tiny, broken body lay trapped beneath the sole of Ms. Brooks' boot, the life squeezed out of him like a mere inconvenience. She glanced down briefly, then shifted her foot, grinding Dylan's remains into the floor. With a shrug, she turned and walked away, leaving behind the flattened remains of the unfortunate student who had simply wanted to take a test.

And so, Dylan's life ended not with a whimper, but with a sickening crunch beneath the heel of his own teacher.
