The Jin were never ones to get caught off guard and this was no exception. They wasted no time in fortifying to a single hold, focusing all available resources at one point in an attempt to hold out through the slaughter. The Tickdema, seeing an obvious ticking time bomb, attempted numerous times to infiltrate the hold. Yet not a single casualty had come upon the Jin. Cerone seeing a massive issue, lead a personal charge to siege the keep. He would not leave empty handed. Forces grew for several weeks until the keep was fully surrounded. The Jin knew it was time to act.
Xiahou Ba formed his ranks at the main gate. He lined an armored battalion along the gate itself and readied two ballista just behind them. He himself formed up with a squad of spearmen, their last ditch effort if the ballista are disabled.
Deng Ai readied the remaining forces for a counter charge. Numerous armored divisions and calvary were amassed just behind the front gates. They were prepared to charge the enemy straight out of the keep if they made it past the front lines.
Sima Shi assembled militia units deep in the keep to surround the main castle. He hid just inside, working with strategist on their next available moves. His hopes weren't high, as they never planned to have to go on the offensive at all.
Sima Zhao lined the walls and filled the outer towers with archers. He was determined to keep the enemy from ever reaching the front gate, let alone the interior.
