After 3 straight weeks without a day off, you finally have a whole weekend off. That many double shifts take their toll on you. You would be getting up at 3 AM, and getting ready for another double shift, but sense it was the first of your days off, you slept in until just past noon on this Friday. You're about 6'2" and 245 pounds approximately, but even at that size you were still physically exhausted when you got up. You shrugged some of it off as you got ready for the day. You're hungry, but don't feel like cooking today, so you get ready and start walking out the door to Dave's Diner. You pass it every day to and from work weather you were walking, or driving. You lock up and head there on foot today. Your house is close to the diner, but the area of the city you live in is right next to woods that aren't developed so to prevent flooding. They are pretty large, but there is a beautiful late right in the middle. It'd probably be faster walking than driving, sense the shortcut through the woods saved you a couple miles of driving around even with the lake in the middle.
It's warm enough out today to go swimming, but not quite hot enough to make you start sweating. The path you are taking is one you have walked so many times it is almost dirt all the way to the lake. From there, there are 3 or 4 paths that are much less worn in, and harder to spot. The sun is shining brightly, but the forest gives you plenty of shade, yet allowing in plenty of light. When you passed through open thatches, you couldn't see a single cloud in the clear, blue sky. It was an ideal walk through the woods until you get to the lake in the middle of the woods. Its waters are clear and blue as it gets deeper, but you see a woman who looks quite flustered, and on the edge of a full breakdown. She's facing away from you, but you can still tell she is a good looking woman.
"Agh! She said this was supposed to be a shortcut, but I can't find that other path out! It's just one thing after another lately. First my family dies in that car accident, then I had to move out of my home, and just when my luck changed and I got this job, I get lost trying to take a shortcut in the first week." mumbled the woman just loud enough for you to hear, without noticing you were there. You approach her quietly unintentionally. You ask in a way where you're doing your best not to startle her "Hey, are you ok?" She turns around to face you, partially startled, but quickly calming down. "Not really, I'm kind of lost in these woods and running late for work." You couldn't help but to check her out quickly, like any man. Her chest was almost busting out of her waitress uniform, and everything else compiled with that was perfect, even her deep emerald eyes, long brunette hair. "Uh, well, I'm heading to Dave's Diner. I can show you the way there from here if you want." Her face perks up when you mention Dave's Diner. You had a feeling she worked there from the uniform. "That's exactly where I am heading!" she says with some excitement. You can't help but to blush slightly at her beautiful smile. "Well it's this way if you will follow me." you say trying to get your thoughts back together, and start walking the correct way. "By the way, my name's Jenna. What yours?" she asks as she begins to follow you. "My name's Wyatt. Pleasure to meet you Jenna." You say with a smile, only glancing back for a short moment, trying not to make too much eye contact with this beautiful woman.
You both walk through the forest, and arrive at the Diner shortly there after. You take a window seat, by accident, in her section. You are the only one in the restaurant other than the staff today it seems. Jenna arrives at your table with a slight look of surprise at you sitting there, and another waitress standing behind, as if to make sure she didn't screw up. Jenna hands you a menu and asks "What will you be having to drink today?" You had the menu back, ordering out of memory "I'll have a water to drink, and a Big Johns Burger, with fries." She seems a little shocked that you didn't need the menu, and continues "How do you want your burger done, and what fixin's do you want on it?" You reply happily at the question "Medium rare please, and all the fixings." Jenna nods and reads back the order she wrote down to you. with your nod of approval, she walks away. It's not long before she comes back with your water. she sets it down on a coaster and then says to you slightly awkwardly "Apparently you're the only one who has been in all day so far. They're letting me leave after I finish your service, and they show me some things in the back." You catch from her tone, and the way she said it, she is hinting at something, and telling you it for a reason. You respond with "Well I'm free today, would you..."
