A sandstone gargoyle boy steps into the light. The gargoyle's body is pale yellow with streaks of red. The gargoyle's scarred with numerous chips and cracks. You raise your mace and prepare to strike. The gargoyle boy cowers and falls to his knees in fear. You lower your weapon and approach the gargoyle. The gargoyle boy makes no effort to strike you. The gargoyle rises to its feet and begins to speak in a trembling voice.
"Wait! I'm an old scout left behind by the gargoyle prince. I'm too old to fight anymore, but I must protect this graveyard. We shall play a game. You win the game, and I'll give you a bag of gold I recently found. I win the game, and you'll worship my feet for the next 10 minutes. However, I'll still surrender half the gold if you lose."
You breathe a sigh of relief. You prefer avoiding battle whenever possible. The terms of the bet sound reasonable, so you nod in acceptance. The gargoyle wanders over to a decaying gravestone, and remove a chunk of rock with his claws. You wonder what he's planning. You follow the gargoyle to a row of three headstones. The gargoyle boy turns to face you.
"Close your eyes, and I'll hide this piece of stone behind one of these graves. You pick the grave where the stone is hidden, and you get the gold."
You close your eyes, and the gargoyle hides the stone. The gargoyle taps you on the arm, and you open your eyes again. You observe the three graves and consider which one you'll choose. The gargoyle stands nearby awaiting your choice. You point at the left grave, and the gargoyle walks behind it. The gargoyle boy bends down, and pick up something with his claw. The gargoyle returns to your side and holds out his open claw.
