Josh went to the next house. The person at the door wasn't as rude as the first lady, but she did give Josh a look of disappointment. It was clear that she thought that Josh was too old to still be trick or treating. Not only that but she didn't think Josh was wearing any sort of costume at all. As far as anyone knew, the girl that Josh swapped with was the one wearing a costume (she was wearing Josh's attire). Josh was wearing regular clothing, even though Josh was wearing the little girl's southern belle ensemble. Josh felt dejected.
Josh saw a little girl (with her mother) he knew who couldn't be much more than seven years old. She was in a werewolf costume for girls. She didn't look very happy.
"What's wrong?" Josh asked.
"Mommy says I got enough candy and we have to go home. But it's still early," the girl announced.
Josh looked at the mother and she confirmed her daughter's assessment with a nod of her head.
"I'll tell you what. I'll give you all my candy if you let me trick or treat like you."
The girl looked into his bag and agreed. Not knowing what Josh meant exactly. Josh had all the candy that the little girl he swapped outfits with had as well as the candy from the two houses he trick or treated himself.
The girl agreed. More candy was better than less candy, besides her trick or treating was done for the year.
