"Ok," Bri agreed as she thought about what she wanted to swap. After thinking for a moment she finally made her decision. "I think that we should swap our place in the family for the weekend."
"Our what?"
"Our place in the family. You will be treated like the little child and I'll be treated like a grown person."
Josh knew that as the 'baby' Bri got away with murder. She didn't have any real chores. If she picked up her plate from the dinner table and brought it to the kitchen that was enough. Josh sometimes had to wash the dishes. he had to take out the trash, he had to wash the car and mow the lawn. he didn't have to do them every time, but when his mother asked, he knew he had better do it. Bri didn't even have to make her own bed, Courtney did it for her. Josh even knew of times when Bri picked a fight with Courtney and it was Courtney who got into trouble. He decided by taking this swap he could slack off and not have a problem. "It's a deal," he said.
After the familiar flash had receded, Josh notice his room had changed. His room became much more girlie than it had been. It had all the furniture it had before, bed, night stand, dresser, bookcase, etc. but they were all had girlie accents. His room was painted in white and pink. There were stuffed animals all over the place and all of his things were gone, including his video game system.
"What happened to my room?" he exclaimed.
He went to his closets and found his normal boy clothes. It was his stuff then he realized that the size was wrong and he was still wearing Bri's tank. Then it dawned on him, this wasn't his room anymore. It was Bri's. She is the older sibling now and so she was the one who had her own room. Josh realized that he must be sleeping with Courtney.
"Oh, I see now," he said."
"What?" Bri inquired she was just as confused as Josh.
"This isn't my room anymore, it's yours."
"It's mine??? Wow Cool!!!" Bri didn't expect to get her own room.
"Come let's go see your room, I mean my new room." Josh and Bri left his room and went towards her old bedroom. Inside Courtney was on her bed (which hadn't changed) listening to music from her iPod, The room had changed somewhat. Josh's things were around the room. It was still dominated as a girl's room (Courtney was treated like the older sibling), but there were some things that were definitely for a boy. The bed spread on his bed was somewhat boyish. He found his Play Station hooked up to the TV. There was his school books and laying on the desk was a picture of him with his school friends and Jenn. Inside the closets (he seemed to know instinctively which were his and which were Courtney's) were little girl's clothing but in his size. This made perfect sense to him because of his other swap. He liked this picture since it had Jenn in it. (He was the only one in the picture dressed like a little girl) This was definitely his room now.
Courtney saw Josh looking around the room. "What are you looking for?"
"Ummm, nothing." Josh said.
"Then what are you doing,"
"Nothing, sorry to disturb you." Then without saying another word, Josh left the room and headed back for what was now Bri's bedroom. Bri followed along.
