"Let's swap our personalities!" Jenn proposed.
Josh wasn't sure what she meant, but he didn't like the idea one bit. "No thanks Jenn. I'm not sure I'm ready for something like that quite yet."
"Do you even know what I'm taking about when I say personality?" She questioned.
"Not exactly, but I'd rather not know." He said honestly.
"Well how can you say no to a swap if you don't know what the swap is?" She pointed out.
"Okay fine, tell me what it means and then I'll say no."
"It means we will swap things such as interests, things we like to do, the way we act..." Jenn tried to make her list longer but Josh cut her off.
"Like I said, I would have rather not known. I'm not making that swap."
"But why not?"
"I don't want to be interested in things that a girl would be interested in." He explained, which angered his friend.
"So that's what this is about? Don't be such a sexist Josh!"
Realizing that he offended her, Josh tried to find a way of calming her down. "No that's not what I meant, I just meant that I am comfortable with my own interests, pleasures, and behaviors."
"Well that's not how you worded it." She told him.
"I'm sorry. You know I don't normally mean it when I say things like that."
"Well if you want me to help you study, you're going to have to make it up to me in return for what you said."
"And what do I have to do?" Josh asked, although he had a feeling that she would say a certain something.
"Do the swap, it won't have to be for long, just try it." She said with a smirk.
Josh wasn't sure if she actually wanted him to make it up to her as an apology, if if she manipulated him into doing the swap, but he couldn't stand to have Jenn act like this toward him. "Fair enough, I agree to swap personalities with you." Which was followed by a familiar flash of light, but this time, after he regained his vision, Josh didn't know anything physically different about him or his friend. It didn't occur to him that the swap he agreed to was exclusively mental.
"Did it work?" Jenn asked while scratching an itch on her inner thigh.
"Not sure. I guess not."
"How come the hair swap worked but not the second swap?" She asked curiously.
Josh then realized that there was nothing that could be physically swapped and tried to explain his thoughts to his friend. "I guess my power is limited to physical attributes."
"That makes sense."
"Should we continue studying then?" Josh proposed.
"I mean if you want to, but there's other options too, like that movie you wanted to watch. The test isn't until Wednesday, correct?" Jenn pointed out.
Josh wondered what was up with his friend all of the sudden, first she comes over to study on a Friday afternoon and then one time where he wants to study she changes her mind? "Come on let's just do it now Jenn. The sooner we get it done the better. We'll be more prepared."
"Alright." Jenn finally agreed.
In the middle of studying, Josh took a glance over at his friend, and couldn't help but admire her outfit. Her black top was very contrasting to her white mini skirt, and her white sneakers looked nice too. He then started to question what even made him think that. Then it hit him: Him and Jenn's personalities actually were swapped! It was possible that the swap was more subtle due to the fact that it changed his thinking without any obvious clues. "Hey girl, I think our personalities are actually swapped." He didn't know what made him say 'girl' like that.
"How? I thought you said you couldn't swap mental attributes."
"Yeah, but I noticed your outfit, and couldn't help but think how cute it was!" He told her.
"So?" Jenn said, completely ignoring the compliment.
"When would I normally think that? He explained. "Here I have an idea." Josh thought of a question that he would know the answer his normal personality would give. "Here's a question, if you were alone in my house right now, what would you do?"
"Probably play some video games." She instinctively replied. Josh then gave her a 'see, I told you so' look. "Ohhhhhhh..." Jenn said, finally realizing Josh's point.
"See, now I don't feel like playing video games now, but you do." He said, gesturing to his PlayStation.
"Ummm... There's nothing there." Jenn pointed out. Josh turned to look and see that his console was gone, he wasn't really bothered by it though for some reason. "Wait, maybe it's at my house now!" Jenn realized.
"Why?" Josh questioned having no idea where his friend was going with her idea.
"Think about it, when I got your hair you got my hair ties and I got your hair gel. So, because we swapped personalities, I'm now interested in video games and your not. Now I have your PlayStation instead of you."
That made sense to Josh. "Okay, that's kind of cool. Should we go back to studying now?" He asked, trying to stay on topic.
"Fine." Jenn said, even though it was obvious she didn't want to. "Can we watch that movie after though?" She asked.
"Sure." Josh said before he adjusted his long black ponytail and the two got back to work.
