"Oh. Is this not the right room? Sorry bout that. So you're one of Celestia's guards, right? That must be exciting. You must see a lot of combat based on those marks on your armor there." Moon quickly changed the subject to avoid any conflict.
"What..? Oh, these? Yeah, um.. lots of combat, you know, fighting dragons and stuff..." The stallion looked down and kicked at the tiles as he spoke.
"Um.. that sounds awesome. I'll be joining the Lunar guard, and this'll be my first night. Maybe you could teach me some fighting techniques sometime? You clearly have more experience in that stuff than me."
The stallion seemed hesitant and unsure of himself but Moonbounce wasn't about to let the conversation fall into awkward silence.
"So anyway, my name's Moon, what's yours?" She tried to speak with a level of enthusiasm that would make him less nervous.
"Oh, my name's Purple Heart. I've served in the Celestial guard for a little over two years now." His attitude now seemed completely different from when he first spoke to her. The a tone in his voice going from threatening and forcefully to almost shy and nervous.
"Is something wrong"
"It's nothing... Look, I'm sorry I was giving you a hard time before. And that stuff I said about fighting dragons, it's not completely true... I mean, these marks ARE from a dragon but I don't really do much fighting, mostly just running away and getting hurt... allot" he looked down at the blue tiles again, his mane falling in his face hiding his eyes from view.
Moonbounce could see he was telling the truth and that he was embarrassed about it.
