This choice: To the Princesses. This was a matter for royal judgement. • Go Back... Killing any member of Equestria's Royal Guard was a crime that was not punished by simple jail time or execution. No, all decisions had to go through the princesses themselves, the monarchs of this land. Surely, from what Moonbounce had heard of them, they would be reasonable. She knew she would never get away without punishment, but the princesses did have a reputation for being kind...one of them, anyway.
The throne room was an imposing sight for anypony, and twice as much so when one was being dragged across the floor while accompanied by two armed guards and a heavy, angry stallion. She supposed that she was lucky she was in the throne room...they wouldn't dare to hurt her in the princess's presence.
"What is the meaning of this interruption?" Celestia asked. That didn't sound promising. She was clearly not in much of a caring mood. As Moonbounce was dropped to the floor and the guards stepped aside, she was able to gaze upon the princess herself.
She was magnificent, her gleaming fur and ever flowing mane and tail shining as the sun shone down on her from the many windows around them. She did have...an odd amount of pudge on her rump and stomach, though Moonbounce only observed for a moment before looking away. She had completely zoned out while Bulldozer explained the situation in a surprisingly calm manner, given how angry he really was.
Celestia sighed, putting down the papers she had been holding in her magical vice. "Thank you, Corporal. You all may leave now. I will require privacy for this."
The guards and corporal glanced at each other before bowing respectfully and marching out, shutting the door.
Moonbounce was terrified, to say the least. The princess seemed almost too calm, her eyes closed as she kept herself calm and considered her options.
"Now, I am sure that you have some kind of explanation for this, correct? It seems you do not fully understand the gravity of your situation." She said gravely, opening her eyes. Those piercing purple orbs sliced right through Moonbounce's soul, making her quiver where she sat. In a feeble attempt to save herself, she explained what had happened, hoping that a fellow mare could relate in some way.
Celestia once again took a deep breath. In a way, she could in fact see that the bat mare's actions were, in some ways, justified. However, her handling of the situation lead to the death of a high ranking soldier and that, unfortunately, could not go unpunished.
As she was about to stand up, a low, rippling growl came from deep within her stomach. She hadn't had a chance to eat today, she realized. She had been extremely busy with paperwork, after all.
She could easily use this criminal to sate her hunger, but that would hardly look good on her record. Then again...no pony would find out. Still, she thought, deep down this mare didn't deserve death, but who was she to care about who deserved it or not?
