Moonbounce saluted snappily as Accipiter trotted off. Almost instantly she had a stallion trot over. "Hey, want to team up?" the orange pony asked.
Moon shook her head. "Fraid not. You see the purple armour? My patrol's tonight!" she called cheerily. Accipiter's big speech hadn't put her off, she couldn't wait to start off her career as a Royal Guard. She definitely wasn't going to be one of the fifty percent that didn't make it after all. "Good luck though!" she added to the stallion.
"You too," he replied, before vanishing back into the pack of rookies. Moon turned away, trotting from the group and back towards the bunk rooms. She nodded at a fellow guard as she passed, the huge stallion giving her a grin. A turn to the left and she was back in the bunkroom.
She gave a quick check to the left and to the right, making sure she was alone as she stalked over to her bed, then she stopped, threw up her forehooves and let out a gleeful "Squeeee!" before falling back onto the covers. With a sigh she then fell back, stretching out on her mattress and closing her eyes.
A second later they opened again, there was no way she could sleep now! She was super excited about her patrol... that and she had forced herself to sleep when all the other rookie's had all through training, now she was expected to flip it all on its head?
Accipiter had warned her about the other guards, but they were fellow guards. Could they be that bad?
