Shepard chuckled a tad as Doctor Chakwas checked in one last time on the scale, The Commander had decided to pay the good doctor a visit after awaking with a strange sense of bloating. Although to be fair Shepard already had a good idea of what had caused it…
“So it would seem…”
She felt herself laugh alongside the elder woman.
“Honestly though it’s nothing to worry about seems you’re simply packing on a handful of pounds due to that small victory celebration you threw us all last night.”
Shepard smiled recalling the events from previous night how she had thrown the crew and her teammates a “small” party for the completion of the mission against The Collectors.
The human harvesting aliens were through and no one had been left behind so to speak so The Commander had decided that all on board the Normandy relax throw their shoes off and party hard at least for a night. They all deserved it.
Of course she had joined in and sometime down the line must have had too much fun, drink, and food. Ten to one said Kelly was no doubt involved, Shepard knew full well of the younger girl’s crush on her…they didn’t wake up together however so The Commander figured it hadn’t gone that far…yet…
She smiled before being snapped back to reality by Chakwas’ distinctive voice.
“Well in your line of work you’ll burn away those pounds like a knife through butter. Just in case watch what you eat for about a day or two however as I said it should be easy for you to get back to your standard weight, Shepard.”
Shepard thanked the good doctor making her leave just as the door leading to the A.I. core flipped open allowing the individual on the opposite end passage.
“Apologies for the interruption Shepard-Commander for we do not understand the reasoning why humans in particular are so emotional about wither or not they are of the correct weight?”
She couldn’t help but laugh at the synthetic being known solely as Legion.
“I guess you can say it’s more of an organic thing. Not really something that you can grasp so easily, Legion. In ways…it’s just who we are as individuals. It’s “coded” into us so to speak.”
She wasn’t sure if he, it, understood so well so instead opted at Chakwas was perhaps a better person to ask such questions. The elder woman shot her something of a false glare. Shepard owed her for this one.
Content with the scene before her Shepard at last excused herself afterwards began to make her way toward the elevator.
