This choice: Swim in the dark and "scary" side of the lake • Go Back...Chapter #5Swim in the dark and "scary" side by: karlmarx700   You'd heard a lot of odd things about the "dark" side of the lake. It was deeper and shaded by thick spruce trees, and often had pine needles floating around in it. Rumor as a terrible lake monster lived there and it tentacle-raped a school-girl once. However, there were annoying kids around the normal side, and you didn't want to deal with them. But you still wanted to go swimming! You were willing to take the risk of awakening a lake monster if it meant you could swim. You dismissed the lake monster rumors as sensationalized stories and fake news. And you rationalized that you were a tough girl, a strong swimmer, and a fast runner. You believed that even if someone or something attacked you, you would be able to get away.
You walked around to the dark side, being careful not to step on any pine needles, because those freaking hurt. A little girl, no older than ten, said,
"Ooh, she's going to the dark side!" And pointed.
The annoying kids all stared at you. Another little girl, apparently a friend of the first one began chanting,
"Dark side! Dark side! Dark side! Dark side!"
You immediately tired of this peanut gallery. You flipped the children the finger and shouted out,
"Piss off, all of you!"
Before diving right into the deep dark lake.
The water was cool and refreshing, and aside from the pine needles floating around, very clean. It was probably the cleanest part of the lake. You enjoyed a few minutes of peace ad quiet alone out there before some of those dumb kids came closer.
"Lady, you're in trouble! A monster lives there!" A little girl said.
You growled.
"I told you grobby little turds to piss off!" You shouted.
At that, all of the kids screamed and scattered. You sighed, erroneously thinking you were the reason they ran. Then, turning around, you saw a gigantic tentacle decked out with suction cups rising from the water. It was the lake monster! It was real!
You swam backwards onto land as you watched the beast arise. It was big and looked sort of like an octopus. Its flesh was a blue-violet color that blended in with the bottom of the lake very well. It had many tentacles all covered in suction cups. Its face had a powerful beak and two round glassy blue eyes. The lake monster bellowed,
"Oh, a pretty girl! Hello, pretty!"
And extended a tentacle toward you.
