"Hey honey," James said softly in his daughter's ear, "why don't you get comfy on the couch, put the TV on, I'll get you a nice snack, and you can relax. How's that sound?"
Kristin sniffled and whimpered, her chubby cheek squished against her dad's shoulder. "Mm..." she mumbled, which James knew was how she said "Yes" when she was upset.
"Alright, c'mon then," he cooed, and slowly stood up. His tubby girl wiped her eyes and sniffled again.
"C-can I have some of the leftover cake...?" She muttered, "A-and a burger...?"
"Of course you can dear," he smiled and stroked his daughter's hair, "you can have whatever you like."
Kristin nodded a little, and slowly turned around to waddle to the living room. James turned to the kitchen and started getting a snack together for his girl.
The kitchen was packed with everything a 10 year old girl would like - at least, a 10 year old girl like Kristin. Pizza, burgers and fries were loaded into the freezer, cakes and sugary treats in the fridge, and chocolate bars and bags of chips in the pantry. Everything she wanted, she got.
It'd be a good few hours till dinner, and Kristin wasn't exactly known for spoiling her appetite with sweets, so James got to work.
After about ten minutes, James was carrying a tray into the living room. A cheeseburger, some fries, a few slices of gooey chocolate fudge cake, a large-size chocolate bar and a bottle of chocolate milk covered it. Kristin's face already lit up when she looked up at her dad from the cartoons on TV.
"Here you are hon," he smiled and set the tray next to his 'little' girl on the couch.
"Thanks daddy," she muttered, already starting to calm down, and started eating up her hearty snack.
"Just shout if you need anything," James smiled and went back to the kitchen.
