Roy suddenly remembered why he was here. Someone had called her this morning to notify her that her Husband's Bulldog Spike had gotten out when they had gotten drunk last night.

"Damn Dog." Roy said in his new southern accent as he took another breath of smoke.

Roy, as in Ester, had a complicated relationship with husband Leon. They still enjoyed each other's company, but they did get in the occasional fight. Drinking helped and hurt in both ways.

Roy throws down the cigarette, and decides to look in the car for another beer.
