"Oh, gross..." Chris muttered. As he splashed droplets of water off of his skin he noticed that some of the drops were a little viscous on his skin. He was confused, seeing as how he hadn't sneezed into his hands, but wrote it off as the cold affecting his memory. He grabbed a paper towel, wiping his hands and face until he was satisfied that they were dry. He brushed his hands down the front of his jeans a few times, just to make sure, before leaving the bathroom. Over his own sniffling, and the sound of the door swinging shut, Chris couldn't hear the faint sizzling coming from the garbage can. If he had, he might have looked in to see the paper towel he had used, crumbling and dissolving as it shrunk into nothing.
Of course, paper was incredibly thin, and absorbent. Chris didn't notice anything else sizzling as he walked out into the hallway. He'd essentially been given a free pass for the day- not that he was feeling up to much, given his current condition. No, getting some rest and recuperating was probably his best option at the moment. He could head back home- his roommates would be out at classes no doubt, and just relax the rest of the day. Suddenly, Chris felt another strange sensation, and looked down in horror, as he only just registered the terrible sound of...
...his stomach gurgling. Was it feed a cold and starve a fever, or the other way around? Chris wondered. Either way, he was hungry, and his body needed all the energy it could get to fight off his sickness. Maybe if he got some lunch and a bit of orange juice at the campus cafeteria on the way home, he could get better all the faster.
