Apollo clutched at his cell phone, his hands shaking. His gaze darted back and forth between the phone and Athena, off in the distance. She was tapping away at the screen of her own cell phone, no doubt to call him. Apollo waited anxiously for his phone to ring. This was his chance.
...
Seconds passed. Apollo stared at his phone, the moment seeming to drag on forever.
"C'mon... help me out here...!!"
To his frustration, his phone didn't make a sound. He thought to check the screen's corner for a readout of signal strength, and found it blank. He groaned. Maybe his phone shrinking with him prevented it picking up service...?
Whatever the case, Athena was standing across the vast office room, her phone held up to her ear. She idly tapped a fingertip against her single earring while she waited.
"Hmm..." she mumbled after several long seconds. Looking at Trucy, she shook her head. "Nothing. He isn't picking up."
Trucy frowned. "Well, leave him a message, at least."
Athena nodded. After several more seconds, she spoke up, beginning to record a message for Apollo. All the while, Apollo himself was still staring down at his own phone, wishing it could pick up a signal for even a few seconds. He just needed a tiny bit of time to get himself some help.
Athena's voice becoming a distant mumble in his ears, he began to type out a text message to her. Maybe, if he was lucky, he'd get the split-second of service he needed for the message to get through at some point. Once he'd finished, he stowed his phone back in his pocket.
Athena was finishing her message. She tucked her own phone away once she'd hung up. Apollo watched her from his vantage point on the chair.
