Phoenix couldn't have voiced his response any better than Edgeworth did. What had just happened? One second he was sitting down in the most comfortable armchair he could find in the study while Maya went off to grab a snack, and the next, he was...

He turned to find Edgeworth staring around the area in utter confusion. If Edgeworth was reacting like that, he didn't feel bad about freaking out.
"Nick...?"
Maya looked around the room. Phoenix appeared to have left. He'd been here just a minute ago. She wondered for a moment what he was up to, but she was sure he'd be back to talk soon enough. She sat down, taking the chair he'd left behind. She had a pair of Swiss rolls she'd located in Edgeworth's kitchen cupboard. One of them was meant for Phoenix, but if he didn't come back soon, Maya wouldn't say no to eating both.
So, by Edgeworth's best hypothesis...
They'd shrunk.
This was his dining room table, only now it was so vast all around that it felt like a sports field.
The pair had escaped the little tray, and now they were out in the middle of the table, taking in their enormous surroundings in awe. This was a lot to take in all at once.
"Wright," Edgeworth called out, grabbing Phoenix's attention, "Do you hear that?"
A distant rumble was echoing through the still air.
"Sounds like footsteps." Phoenix said nervously.
Then, off in the distance, a massive figure appeared in the doorway.
"F-Franziska-..." both the shrunken lawyers uttered at once.
The perfectionist prosecutor was striding across the smooth floor, her heels clicking on the way. She'd left the dining room for a while, and apparently was now returning.
She was gigantic. She seemed unreal at this scale, but she was quite real indeed.
Franziska returned to the chair she'd been seated in before and sat down. When she set her hand on the tabletop, it rumbled very slightly beneath the feet of the two people atop it.
