The wind kicked in and the first raindrops started to fall. Moments later, the rain started coming down harder and harder, and it was followed by rumbles of thunder and bright flashes of lightning everywhere.
Laura was home alone that evening. She had just returned home from completing her shift at Wilko that evening when the calm evening turned into a stormy night. She let her dog out and she turned on the lights everywhere. She quickly made some soup and a sandwich in the kitchen then lightning struck very close by, scaring her and Bear, her little cocker spaniel. The loud thunder was followed by all the lights going out in the house.
“Oh no! An outage!” she sighed.
She went looking for that little flashlight, which she found in the kitchen. When she tried to switch it on, she noticed that a very faint ray of light emitted from the lightbulb. The batteries were almost dead!
“Oh no! This is useless! Come on, Bear! Let’s go in the bedroom!” she said to her dog.
She carefully walked into the bedroom, feeling her way around the dark house. When she got into the room, she crawled on her bed, allowing her dog to lay next to her. As thunder and lightning continued to light up the sky outside, she covered herself completely with her sheets and closed her eyes. She dozed off in just a few minutes.
Then came the strangest dream.
She heard a pleasant voice. A voice of a young man calling out to her.
“Laura! Laura!”
“Yes? I’m here! I’m right here!”
“Good. Very good! It is time for you to receive your powers, dear Laura!” he said.
“What kind of powers?”
“Why, you are a Goddess, my sweet girl! You can do everything!”
“What? Really?”
“Just wait and see when you wake up in the morning. You will be in complete control!” he answered.
“In control? Of what?”
“Absolutely everything. Goodbye, Laura!”
And then he was gone.
Several hours later, Laura was awakened by Bear’s tongue licking her arm.
“Uhh… Bear! Stop… Okay, I’m up! I’m awake!” she groaned as she glanced at the clock. But the time was incorrect since it was blinking. The power had returned following the nasty thunderstorm.
She looked for her cell phone and she slowly got out of bed. It was probably time to get up anyway since she had to go back to work. Then, she remembered the strange dream she had. Something about her becoming… A Goddess?
She stared at her digital clock, which was blinking. She quietly wished it was showing the current time.
Suddenly, the display changed and it was showing the current time! It was 7:14 AM.
“Whoa! The clock got fixed… All by itself?” she sighed. “Or… Did I just do that?”
Then she stared at her messy bed in her bedroom.
“My bed needs to be made and my clothes need to be laid out on my bed right now” she uttered.
Instantly, her bed was neatly made up with the sheets and the covers straightened out. All her work clothes were spread out across her bed, including her pants, her Wilko shirt, her socks, her panties and her bra. All she had to do was take a shower.
“Ohhh wow… Something weird going on… I just need to take a nice shower with warm water…” she mumbled to herself.
She had instantly teleported to her bathroom where she was standing in the shower stall with nice, warm water running over her body. Everything she wanted was happening, exactly the way she liked it.
“Ohh, this feels so good… I’m gonna have a good day at work!” she smiled as she grabbed the bar of soap. She couldn’t wait to go to work now, as a young Goddess who was in complete control of everything!
