"Rebekah, you're late luv." Liz admonished her employee as she rushed in the door of Wilko. "Hurry up and get upstairs, Elizabeth is holding a little meeting in the tea room okay." she added.
"Er... okay Liz." Rebekah mumbled, not really listening to much. Her mind was on other things, one other thing specifically. Rebekah had a special ring on her finger that would supposedly allow her to swap people's traits around, physical or otherwise. But despite this amazing new ability she had, Rebekah knew she still had to do as she was told at work.
Making her way upstairs, Rebekah headed into the locker room and put her coat and bag away. Only then did she enter the tea room. Elizabeth stopped talking mid-sentence as Rebekah walked in, and the manager glance at her watch. "Nice of you to join us Rebekah."
"Sorry!" Rebekah sighed, as every pair of eyes in the room fell upon her. She hated being the focus of attention.
There was one pair of eyes in the room though that Rebekah didn't recognize. "Rebekah, this is Naomi, she's going to be with us for a few weeks, on transfer from the store in Hillsborough." Elizabeth politely introduced the 22-year old Japanese woman with long, straight black hair, wearing a Wilko polo shirt, a knee-length black skirt, tan-colored tights and a pair of black leather ballet flats.
"Hi, pleased to meet you." Naomi smiled, waving at Rebekah, who returned the greeting. Naomi could speak perfect English, and had obviously been brought up in Britain by her parents. Rebekah now thought the world was well represented within the confines of their little store.
Elizabeth continued with her chat, and Rebekah listened, while occasionally glancing over to the new employee. She completely forgot about the ring on her finger for a moment, but then her mind started to tick over with endless possibilities.
