Suki couldn't help but frown as she looked over the doll. On one hand, Jade's story sounded like a bunch of hokey. Not the part about it being a present from a deceased grandparent, but the whole "swap body parts" part of the story.
"Um, test it out?" Suki hesitantly asked. Jade was her new best friend, she didn't want to call the doll a fake. Even if the powers were real, would they have any right of messing with other's bodies?
"Yeah." Jade pressed the doll up to Suki's hand. "How else would we know if it works?"
Okay~ This conversation was quickly going in an uncomfortable direction. Even beyond the morality of testing it on other people, another concern ran through Suki's head. She had heard so many stories of seemingly benevolent items turning out to be horribly evil artifacts to feel comfortable with handling a possibly magical item.
The One Ring and the Monkey's Paw particularly came into mind.
But on the other hand, she couldn't exactly say no to the face that Jade presented to her...
Suki was going to hate herself for this.
"A-alright." Suki muttered. "But, please, make the first, um, swap you do, include me in it."
It was Jade's turn to frown. "Sure... why don't we go... do that."
