As the disc spun round and round, you found that you couldn’t look away. Slowly, you fell into a trance, just standing and watching the CD whirl around. As you stood, it began to work on your mind.
“Obey,” It whispered into your hypnotized mind, “When people tell you something, you want to obey. It doesn’t matter whether they ask, or demand, or tell, or command. When people tell you something, you want to obey. Especially your family. You want to obey your mother. You want to obey Jennifer. You want to obey your older sister. You want to obey Ashely. You want to obey your younger sister. You want to obey Jane. Whatever anyone else says, you want to follow those instructions. You want to obey. Obey. Obey whatever you are told. Whatever you are told is more important than whatever you think you should do. What you think or want or need is inconsequential. You must obey. To obey is to excel. To obey is to live. To obey is to breathe. You were born to obey. You were meant to obey. All you want to do is obey. Obey. Obedience is most important. When you do not obey, you feel pain and sadness. When you obey, you feel happy. You are happy to obey. You obey because everyone else knows best. Everyone else should be in charge. Everyone else should command. You should obey. You are good at obeying. You do not want to give commands. You just want to obey.”
It goes on and on for who knows how long, the mantra burning itself into your head. Obey. Obey. Obey.
Finally, it ends, and you blink, waking up from your trance. What happens then?
