Although the book was blank, it was giving you an unnerving feeling, a desire to flip through the pages which worried you. Being a fan of science fiction, you knew that anything unknown can be dangerous in the hands of the unknowing. "There is only one person I know who might be able to tell me what this is." Thoughtful, you muttered. "Only mom doesn't like me anywhere near her."
You sighed, wondering what to do. You knew that Aunt Samantha had a bad reputation both in the family and in town but she was an expert in the strange and unusual. Harry was one of her best customers and you had not seen or heard anything bad happening to him. Finally, you decided to go see her at the mall. You placed the book into a cloth bag and held it close like mom had done with her purse before taking the bus to the mall. "I am going to get grounded for this." Sighing, you whispered. "But it's better that than risk this hurting someone."
Upon reaching the mall, you marched straight into aunt Samantha's antique store. Your aunt was tall and slender with strawberry blond hair and hazel eyes. This surprised you as you remembered her having brown hair and green eyes. Shrugging it off, you walked up to her who seemed surprised to see you walk into her store. "Welcome to my shop, John." Politely, she said. "Are you looking for Harry? He has not been here today."
"Actually, I found something at home that has me rather unnerved." Wincing, you said. You pulled the magic book out of the cloth bag. "It appears to be blank but it's really creeping me out and I'm hoping you know what it is."
Samantha sighed before stepping out from behind the counter, She took the book from your hand and opened the cover to the first page. "I'm very sorry, dear nephew." Firmly, she said. "However, what you have here is trouble..."
"What do you mean..." Taken back, you asked.
Again, Samantha sighed. "This book is only to be held and viewed by a select few." Cryptically, she explained. "If it's any consolation, whoever left this for you to find is in deeper trouble than you right now."
