Generous Gryphoness

Selyna soon came back into sight, jumping slowly through the grand arch that lead to Vivian's throne room. Beside her was a thin and very pale human male, stumbling to keep up with her unusual gait. His clothes hung awkwardly on his frame, as if they had been made for a man much larger than him, and his eyes were sunken, his face gaunt. Selyna lead him to a short distance from Vivian's throne and bowed deeply, before returning to her position beside her Empress.

"It has been many years since an envoy from the Terran Kingdom has visited the Goldpine Empire," Vivian remarked in a warm tone, smiling down at the human in an attempt to dispel the sense of forbidding she felt in the pit of her stomach. "Please, envoy, tell me your name and the purpose of your visit."

"M-my name is Blake, your- your Highness," the human mumbled, eyes cast towards the floor as if afraid of offending the ruler simply by laying his eyes on her. "I come to- to request aid. The Kingdom is suffering under widespread famine, your Highness, and we fear that if we do not receive aid our country will fracture completely."

Vivian sighed softly, the edges of her break downturned. The Terran Kingdom had to have been the most unlucky nation to have ever existed. Formed from a massive slave revolt hundreds of years ago, freeing enough oppressed humans to form a small country, the Kingdom had always either been on the defensive in some war or suffered from some other malady, as if the gods themselves were trying to force the humans back into the slavery their entire species once chafed under. Now, the Terran Kingdom was a small rump state sandwiched between the Goldpine Empire and the land belonging to the Draconic Clans, with an ailing economy and a citizenry slowly being absorbed by the dragons, many of whom, despite recognising their nation's past sins, still wanted a cute little human to either smother with affection or work to the bone - or some combination of the two.

"We- the-the treaties our nations signed following the Second Great Famine promised aid should something like this happen again," Pulling a backpack off of himself - something that Vivian had not initially notice, having concentrated on his appearance and ill-fitting tunic - Blake began to frantically pull ancient scrolls out of the cloth bag, seeming to be on the edge of tears. "P-please, Empress, I beg of you, save my people!"

Vivian felt her heart go out to the envoy, and with a determined expression, she rose from her throne. Lessening the effect was the jiggling of her T&A. Regardless, the Empress descended the steps of her rock throne, standing right in front of Blake as her guards tightened their grips on their halberds. Vivian idly noted that the human was a good three inches or so shorter than her.

"Your nation shall have all the food it needs and more, Blake," Vivian spoke softly and slowly, eyes boring into Blake's very soul. "Our fields are eternally bountiful, and so it will be no strain on us to aid you in your time of need."

Eyes wide open and jaw dropped slightly, the envoy absorbed the news he had been given; a tear made its way down his cheek as he began to blubber inelegantly. "E-Empress... Oh, th-thank you, Empress!" The man nearly collapsed to his feet but Vivian caught him, laying his head against her fluffy shoulder and crooning gently. Nuzzling down on the human with her beak, Vivian attracted the attention of her second retainer - Aelsanna - with a hand gesture.

"Aelsanna, this man requires rest, as well as nourishment. Please retrieve the room to the guest room that I had set aside, and tell the kitchens to set aside some fruit for our guest."

As her retainer saluted, bowed, and began to jump out of her throne room, Vivian wondered if it would be worth using her magic to aid the Terran Kingdom. She knew, however, that her body adapted to her use of magic - using high-level Magic caused her to grow more powerful, so as to be able to perform that magic with greater ease. But it would take time to gather the food required to aid the Kingdom, and she did not know if she had that time...
