There are two big misconceptions when it comes to dwarves: there are no females, and they all are the same with minor differences culturally, like humans. This is false. There are in fact three 'main' culture groups that a dwarf will belong to, depending on the region. Female dwarves do, in fact have beards, just not on their faces.
The first are the Ironbeards, wearing scale-mail and plate armor, these dwarves are fond of Warhammers and sturdy fortresses. They never forgive a grudge unless they have repaid it seven times over, or if the offending party agrees to right the wrong, and then serve the dwarf for as long as they see fit. But if you should gain their loyalty, there is no better ally to have. They are in constant odds with the elves, believing that the body is something that only should be shared between spouses, and even then, with at least three remaining undergarments on both parties for modesties sake. They are most often found along mountain passses and rivers, their massive fortresses evident on the rock face.
Second, the Firebrands, with bright orange and red hair, favoring the axe as their weapon, they use magic gold to carve runes into their skin, allowing them to forgo conventional armor and go fairly undressed. Usually all they will wear is their beard. Unlike the Ironbeards, the Firebrands shave their heads into massive Mohawks, rather than elaborate braids. The thickness and color of the beard is the pride of any good Firebrand, and damaging it is seen as a great shame. They are most often found around volcanoes, their magma being rich in metals already liquidated for forging.
Finally, the Coldstone, who are only found atop the coldest peaks, these dwarves are dark skinned, unlike their cousins, and rarely come down from their mountain homes. Aside from the fact that none of them have beards, nor has a male been seen, few if any know anything about their culture...
Which are you from?
