Chapter #4My Kind Of World by: Rita   "Change the world?" Pete looked at his serious friend, "How is this box gonna change the world, Nigel?"
”Well, there was more to the note," Nigel smiled, as he put his hand on the Rad Ray, "In the note, the Rad Ray is described as a way to create a whole new universe! When I press this button, the machine will scan my thoughts. The machine will then construct my wants and desires to create an ideal world. Than a burst of energy will emit from the dish on the top and our world will change accordingly."
"Alright," Pete rubbed his forehead, starting to realize how serious Nigel was taking this, "Let's say this does actually work, why even tell me about it? Why not just change the world when you first got it?"
"Well Pete, you should really feel lucky," Nigel said smugly, "Because you are my friend, I've decided let you in on this adventure. Only people in close proximity of the machine will have any memory of the previous world. Only you and me will know that anything has changed. Although, I cannot promise you'll be entirely the same when I activate the machine,"
"Wait," Pete squinted his eyes, "What do you mean?"
"Well in my perfect world, I'm probably not going to look like this," Nigel pointed at his chubby nerd body, "I'll probably turn into a musclebound hero. You on the other hand, could turn into anything. I'm not really focusing on what you look like, so you could end up looking like anyone towards the end of the process."
"While as enticing as it sounds to be randomly changed, I'll think I'll be leaving now, Nigel," Pete said as he turned around.
"It's too late, Pete," Nigel pressed the purple button "Share this new world with me," As soon as Nigel pressed the button, Pete could of sworn the diamond on the Rad Ray had gotten bigger. But upon closer inspection, it was a transparent glow emitting from the diamond itself. The glow began to rapidly expand, now covering the entire machine. Pete looked up at Nigel in fear only to see his smiling face. This is real, everything's gonna change Pete's thoughts went frantic as he tried to run away, but soon was enveloped by purple glow. The entire store was now shaded purple, like someone put an Instagram filter on the entire building. Pete looked out the window, looking for someone he might be able to signal for help, but all he say was the glow exponentially growing covering everything outside.
"Whoa," Pete put a hand to his hand to his forehead, he was beginning to feel nauseous. Not only was the entire glow scenario too much for him to handle, he now felt more dizzy than he had in his entire life. It only got worse, getting more and more dizzy as time went on. Pete tried his best to focus, but eventually all he could see was a blurry purple mess. But even that was gone, as Pete closed his eyes, passing out from intensity of the whole experience.
