Chapter #3The Motherload by: Rita "You can swap our bodies?" Pete asked incredulously, "How would that even be possible?"
"Um, Peter," Jane gave her a son a dumb look, "Magic jewelry."
"Yeah, still a little bit on the fence about that, mom," Pete sighed. Although he had just witnessed his mother's necklace and his ring glowing, he still doubted that this whole thing was real. "And what was up with the light show earlier?"
"What are you talking about?" His mother responded, oblivious to what had happened while her eyes were closed.
"Ah, never mind," Pete said, abandoning the the thought entirely. He had hoped that his participation with the jewelry would help disprove some of his mother's beliefs in the supernatural but it only seemed to strengthen them. Pete was a little annoyed by his mother's stubbornness, but at least he could appreciate that she was doing this for him. After all, this whole magic thing was all just to get closer with him. With that in mind, Pete decided to play along. "So, why would you want to swap bodies with me? How does that make us closer?"
"Oh Peter, I don't really want to do that," Jane said, shaking her head, "It's not like I chose the power I got. And I'm not sure how it's supposed to make us closer. Maybe if you spend a day in my shoes, you could understand my life better and vice versa."
"Maybe," Pete rubbed his chin, "So...what are you waiting for? Try it out, mom"
"Well, I was going to ask you if you were ready before doing anything," She said, turning serious again,"Peter, are you really sure you want to do this?"
"Totally," Pete shrugged, "Swap our bodies,"
"Don't say I didn't warn you, Peter," Jane said, as she closed her eyes again. Once again Jane's necklace began to glow bright blue. Pete, no longer finding his mother's light up jewelry something to worry about, noticed that his ring was glowing bright red again. Pete assured himself that nothing was going to happen, the necklace was probably just rigged to glow when the wearer closes their eyes. Magic doesn't exist Pete thought, So why am I so worried?. Without warning, Jane necklaces started to glow ten times brighter. Besides his glowing Red ring, Pete couldn't see anything but bright blue. It's like the sky. It's like I'm staring into the clear blue sky and nothing else. Just before Pete could yell for his mother, the blue light began to fade away back into the necklace it came from. Only the necklace was no longer on Jane's body, but a very familiar looking teenage boy. "Now way," Pete said in shock as he looked down.
Pete couldn't believe it. He was now in his own mother's body. Everything was so different. Even though his mother had put on heels, Pete's old body now stood at least 5 inches taller than his current one. Not yet ready to look his mother in the eye, I can feel the "I told you so" coming,Pete looked back down at his mother's body. From this new angle, it was hard to deny that his mother wasn't attractive. Pete and his sister would always make fun of their mom for taking as long as she did to get ready for the day. She would wake up early, exercise for 45 minutes, shower, then spend 45 more minutes doing her daily ritual in front of the mirror. Although it seemed ridiculous to Pete at the time, he could at least now appreciate all the hard work his mother has done to stay in shape. Although most of his view was blocked by his mother's bountiful cleavage, he could still see a little bit of Jane's slim stomach and shapely legs. That's mom's cleavage you’re staring at, Pete reminded himself, as he noticed a long stray hair in front of his face. As Pete pushed it aside, his hand met his mother's long black hair. Pete then ran his hands through his mother's hair, admiring it's length and volume.
"Ahem," Pete was interrupted by his Jane, now inhabiting his body, "I told you it was going to happen,"
"I guess..." Pete put his manicured hand to his throat, surprised by his mother's high and lovely voice, "I guess you were right. Mom, this is crazy."
"I know, right?" Jane smiled, and flexed a muscle, "I'm so big and strong now. What does it feel like to be in my body, Peter?"
"I don't know," Pete said, confused with how well his mother was taking this. "I guess I feel...dainty. Much more delicate than I was before. I also feel like I'm unbalanced as hell. Did you have to wear heels today?'
"Well I didn't get dressed thinking how comfortable my son would be in my body," Jane shook her head at her son's reasoning, "I didn't get the package from Cassandra until this afternoon. Besides, you'll get used to heels eventually,"
"Eventually?" Pete asked bewildered, "How long do you plan to keep me this way?"
"Well it's funny you mention that," Jane replied, still focused on her bicep, "You see, the swap..." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
