Can't say I wasn't expecting the greeting I received.
When the apartment door swung open and I saw Kirsten, who was currently wearing a Sky-Blue tank top and Grey shorts with her hair down. Finally having an opportunity to get a full look at my new roommate, I noticed she had a athletic build (Of course.) with slim, solid arms and a fairly small chest. Her legs were also slim with narrow hips and a flat tummy.
I was probably staring too long at her, but then again, she just gawked at me for what seemed like forever. Well one thing for sure, utter bewilderment beats the hell out of being chastised by my Mother!
Taking a deep breath, I broke the moment of silence by speaking to her. "Uhh... heeyyy..." I started, lingering on the last word for an extra second, slowly waving my hand.
Blinking twice, Kirsten shook her head, realizing how awkward and rude just staring at your new roomie is, super-sized or not. I can't say I'm terribly offended though, living with Mom and having to deal with other judgmental assholes in life, this is pretty tame.
"O-oh I... err.." she stumbled out. "I'm so sorry! It's just... well.."
Smirking, I palmed my fleshy dome of a stomach, rubbing it in quick, small circles. "The photo I sent was pretty old, but no hard feelings , yeah?"
"No, no! Lets do this over. Start again!" She stated. Taking a deep breath, she extended her svelte hand towards me. "Kirsten Tanis. It's pleasure to finally meet you in person.
A little stunned, I extended my much plumper hand forward. "Melanie Carlyle, Mel's just fine." I quickly responded.
Kirsten seemed adamant to try and forget the whole 'gawking at my hugeness for minutes on end' thing. I suppose I should be happy that my rommie cares about getting along with me, but this was a little much.
Maybe when I get my stuff unpacked things can go a little more smoothly.
"That your stuff? Here, let me help with that!" She asked, rushing over to one of my many cases to grab it before I could even open my mouth.
"Uhh.. thanks." I responded, taking a huge bite of my chocolate bar. Following Kirsten's lead into my new home.
